The Post-Baccalauraeate Program Options Available for Premed Students Medicine is a vocation that many college students who are aspiring to be doctors are seriously considering. However, many of them do not actually come close to becoming doctors. There are certain factors that hinders premed students from entering into medical school. There are students that have weak applications, who are not academically strong or are not aware of the prerequisite coursework. Taking a post-baccalaureate premedical program can strengthen a graduate’s application into medical school. There is also continued education option otherwise known as self-study available for students. These programs are intended to help students with little to no science background complete the prerequisites necessary for the MCAT and make their application to medical school. Specific Types of Post Baccalaureate Programs Post-baccalaureate courses are also ideal for students who have low grades due to legitimate reasons such as illness or family issues.
