On September 11th, 2001, life changed in many ways for citizens of many countries. People all around the world began to think that no one is safe, and that the end-times were coming. It was on that day that people of all nationalities realized that if a country as powerful as the United States could fall prey to major terrorist attacks, any country could. Other citizens, both in the Middle East and in the United States, realized that their daily lives would no longer feel normal, or that their lives would become surrounded by turmoil. Many people became overwhelmed with grief on that day, and a sense of nationalism ensued afterwards. However, there were a select few that only took pride and joy from the situation. Even though the terrorist attacks on 9/11 were horrendous, many positive effects came from the situation along with the negative effects; transportation, both domestic and international, changed dramatically, immigration laws became much stricter, and domestic spying from our government …show more content…

After, however, the Transportation Security Administration formed as a federal security organization designed to prevent terrorist attacks on airports, trains, and automobiles before they even happened. The Transportation Security Administration started creating rules requiring soon-to-be passengers to step through body scanners, or x-rays, and take their shoes off for inspection, for example (Hagler). Along with this, the Transportation Security Administration was granted the ability to search someone, no matter if the potential passenger consents or not.
