Plagiarism Should NOT be Tolerated

The internet has made plagiarism a big issue in education today. Finding a term paper on the internet is just as easy as finding the weather for your area on the internet. Being able to produce papers without doing any work has students looking for the easy way out. With so many sources to find papers its hard to not look up a paper, print it out, put your name on it, and call it your own. But along with all the web sights that you can get term papers, there are just as many that explain the ramifications of plagiarism. Anyone with any sense would see these consequences and warnings and think twice about plagiarizing.
Our society today is very lazy. Is it that hard to type out a 5-10 page term paper? There are many more strenuous things going on in the world today. Things like terrorism and war. Why can’t students that are paying for their education just type a term paper? One of the answers is that going to college has become just a social status. Not many students take into consideration why they are here. Many of the college students today see college as a time to get drunk, and party. They don’t worry about anything because its easy to skip classes. Students today need to start realizing the purpose of why they are in a higher education institute and realize the opportunity that they have to make something out of their lives. Education is one of the most valuable things anyone can have, once you have it no one can take it away.

Plagiarism is considered very serious crime. People have no patience for it what so ever. With all of the web sights that have plagiaristic papers, reports, etc. there is almost as many web sights trying to stop them. One is, http://www.lib.u...

... fail grades, in contrast to giving the traditional A,B,C,D, or F grades. This tends to give the students a label. The students that get C or D’s feel as if they have below average intelligence. Giving the students confidence at a younger age can help reduce plagiarism.

Plagiarism is a very serious issue and should not be tolerated. The reasons that I stated in this paper are just a few examples. If our society would just take a step back and look at some of the reasons why this is happening, then I think that we would be able to reduce the amount of plagiarism being committed greatly. The education system should be the first place to look for answers toward stopping this crime. We should all look at what our younger generation is doing and how they are responding to doing work at a young age. Encouraging a good work ethic is the key to stopping plagiarism.
