Why Choose Tap? From the aqueducts in Rome, Italy to modern water pipelines in cities, clean water has almost always been easy to access and virtually free. It can come from a well, treatment plant, and many other sources depending on the location. In big cities or little cities water can come from water treatment facilities while in small rural cities water can come from a well. Tap water is a cheap and eco-friendly way to have a drink of water on the go or at home. Another amazing thing about tap water is its natural mineral content and presence of good bacteria. Also with tap water, from a well specifically, there is no added chemicals such as chlorine and fluoride. Where does well water come from? Well water comes from the Earth, in fact it comes from the ground under us. Below the surface are aquifers, these are large cave like pockets of fresh water that is filtered through many layers of different sediment like sand, stone, lime rock and dirt. A family of four can go through forty-eight 24-packs of bottled water a year. If this family recycles avidly there is no worry of how many bottles will end up in landfills or dumps. If this family does not recycle, as many as 1,152 plastic bottles could end up in dumps and landfills per family of four annually.
