Do not ban guns! Banning guns is an idiotic and pointless thing to do, that will inevitably get you nowhere and cause a lot of conflicts. Most people would believe that banning guns would be a great thing to do, taking into consideration that we’ve recently had mass shootings. Let’s take the time to think about this. If something happened and somehow guns did get banned, people would still be able to get a gun if they really wanted one. Yes, it would be a lot more difficult to obtain one, but eventually, the person seeking one would get it. In The Case Against Banning Guns, it says “anyone who wanted a gun badly enough would still get one”, which clearly proves my point. When it comes down to mass shootings involving schools, concerts, and other public places, it’s not the guns itself, but it’s the people using them. Let’s say guns got banned and a scenario like this occurred. A robbery took place domestically, and the robber had an unregistered illegal gun that the government knew nothing about. Well, the family of four had a gun to protect their household just in case something like this occurred, but the government recently came and confiscated all the registered weapons. The dad of the household tries to fight off the robber but loses because he gets shot in all the commotion. The robber eventually goes on to kill everyone in the household because they are witnesses and continues to rob the house. All of this could’ve been avoided if only guns were banned, you could say “If guns are banned then the robber wouldn’t have one either”, but you have to realise what I was speaking about earlier, when I was saying that people could possibly get illegal guns, it would just be a lot more difficult to obtain
