Obesity The struggle of the century Roughly 35% of today’s America is obese. This percentage is increasing exponentially as the years past. At this rate, in the soon to be future, a majority of the population is going to be obese. Obesity is a major problem in our society and if this behavior is not stopped there will be consequences. There are few things we can do for this epidemic but if carried out by the right people, we can create a solution for this growing problem. Being so that America has roughly 35% of its population obese poses a serious threat to our generations to come. It may not seem to be a serious threat but if you look at the long term, obesity is harmful to our being and not only has it been proven that risk of heart disease is most abundant in those who have been obese but, there may be some correlations to psychological disorders. Coming from a person who has been obese as a child, you also have physical limitations. Flexibility is diminished, and physical ability to interact with other people is majorly diminished. Here I will list the course concepts that relate to my program or what I have said in the program. Antisocial Discrimination- acting differently towards a person because of what they believe in or who they are associated with. I used discrimination in my paper in the example of where a child was left out because of their inability to do what the other kids were doing. Prejudice- having a negative attitude towards a person because of what they believe in or who they are associated with. I used prejudice in my paper in the example of where a child was left out again. Addiction- repetition of a certain behavior even though there may be consequences I used addiction because normally what obesity is, is it’s an addiction to food.
