Coming up with a good idea for a project is the hardest part of science fairs. You want to have one that will be educational, fun to carry out, and interesting enough to those who see the display. However, once you do arrive at the right idea, you'll be on your way. It's helpful to know what other people are doing though, whether you're in the fifth grade or Junior High. This can give you a nice jump start as you get ready for the fair. Of course, you might take an idea and add your own unique twist to it as well.

One interesting experiment for Junior High science fairs is to compare how efficiently different solar ovens operate during different months. It's useful because of the fact that it allows students to understand that solar power is better for the environment. They'll enjoy cooking different foods throughout the entire project and they'll be proud to display their results when the fair rolls around.
