Unfortunately, most people don't even consider the hand free technology in the cars they drive. The technology has become so commonplace that people have become accustomed to it in their everyday lives. While these technologies would appear to make driving safer, if often has the opposite effect. Studies show that using hands free technology can be just as dangerous as manually doing it yourself. While most people would assume that hands free technology, devices, and cars would make driving safer, there are many aspects of the technology that might make one think otherwise. Hands free technology is advancing and becoming more dangerous. Using hands free technology increases the chance of a crash (Rosenberg). This shows that using hands free technology can be dangerous. “Cell-phone induced impairment has even been compared to drunk driving” (Rosenberg). This shows that people are paying too much attention to their hands free device rather than the road. “A recent study showed powerfully how doing two seemingly simple tasks can overload the brain and cause errors of judgment” (Healy).
