Cell Phone Usage While Driving should be Illegal in all States Most drivers experience the urge of picking up the phone to text or to talk while driving on the road. But does the thought of other driver’s lives could be at risk? Driving while talking or texting on the phone is life threatening. States have to put a stop to cell phone usage in order for people to see the possible occurrences of unsafe driving. Some states have already put a stop to cell phones, but not every state.
The more people use their cell phone while driving, the more likely it can create an accident. Cellphones are great for communicating with people, but they pose a risk. Using a cellphone while driving can effect attention and decrease driving performance, more than any other. People are not so good at multitasking because our brain cannot do everything at once. Nowadays, people would text someone rather than call them. Truly calling and texting are very dangerous to do while driving. Texting is just more dangerous because drivers take all of their attention away. First, drivers take their eyes away from the road. If something was to run out in front of your vehicle, the driver probably wouldn’t see until it was possibly too late.

The consequences have so for been an increase in the rate of accidents and deaths related to cell phone use while driving. Using a cell phone while driving is not only limited to talking; it also includes texting while driving. The problem has become so serious that many states have laws prohibiting the use of cell phones while driving.
The invention of the cell phones have changed the lifestyle, and the way people communicate. Despite their effective way of communication, the use of a cell phones while driving results in negative effects to driving performance. Many statics show that driving while talking is a serious issue, because it is the cause of many accidents. The solution is to make cell phone use while driving illegal, and creating phone applications or preventions that will make it difficult to text while in a vehicle. Furthermore, operating a cell phone at the wheel is on the verge of being banned by law in every state, and some have already started this solution to the problem.

When texting, most people have their eyes off the road for at least five seconds.
