Euthanasia In the Right Hands Telling strange doctors with cold hands, in a Lysol filled hospital, which has horrible food, to kill the beloved great granny of the Johnson family seems pretty heartless. However, one must remember there are always two sides to every story. This lovely great granny has six children with thirteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, plus one on the way. She is a two-time survivor of the most hated disease in the country, breast cancer. She stayed at home her entire life taking care of the kids and making sure her husband had a fresh baked meal when he came home from the railroads. This woman has seen the good, bad, and the ugly, and now she is suffering from fatal MLS. She is now eighty-seven years old and cannot bear what she …show more content…

The patient, who is being medically relieved of their pain, is actually not the most effected person in this process. The doctors are affected stronger than the patient because they are the ones who can lose their license and have the weight of someone’s husband, son, and father in their hands. Most importantly family is affected by this life stopping process. They are the ones losing their grandpa whom made such a deep impact on them. Throughout the years, petitions have been made to allow these struggling people to be given the peace they desire. Hundreds of attempts have been made, but only one place in the United Sates has allowed this to be legal, and that is the state of Oregon (Girsh). It is still considered, however, inhumane to countries all over the world and most recognize it as illegal. It is a case that has been going on since children have toddled around and watched their dads put out a hurt dog by shooting it. This process could damage the reputations of doctors because some do not agree with what is happening or what is going on. Euthanasia is a difficult process that has been discussed until its death, but nothing has still been established
