Human being also have a big part in the world by inventing different technology to make life easier, discovering different ways to keep the world healthy, and even helping animals. Above all, the animals, who aren’t always able to help themselves, are being taken care of.

First I would like to state that any career in a medical field takes a lot of dedication and many hours studying and it is not for everyone. I would also like to say once an individual has made a career out of it the job has long hours and can be very stressful, so I suggest readers to not consider a career in medicine unless you are genuinely interested in the work, and are not in it just for the money.

When I was growing up and always playing with animals, I realized what I might want to do with my life. Since animals are, for the most part, vulnerable and helpless, they need someone to take care of them. For animals in need to survive and carry on, there must be a caring person willing to take time out of their day to care for these animals. This person is responsible for providing care such as feeding, cleaning, giving water and administering medication to animals in veterinary offices, zoos, laboratories or animal hospitals. This person is called a veterinary assistant (Writer).
For thousands of years scientist have been performing vivisections on animals to find information on new chemicals, drugs, and vaccines. Vivisection is when scientist perform dissections among living animals mostly for the purpose of educating and retrieving information. Experimenting on animals has become the tool that has helped us comprehend the body functions of an animal and how a disease transforms the bodily functions, but over the years it’s caused animal rights activists to question the usefulness and the sincerity of using animals for this purpose. Although animal research has been helpful in the past, it is morally wrong in the sense that experimenting on animals is not the only way to collect information. There are other alternatives
My search for a career began when, as a college freshman, I chose neuroscience as my major. Surprisingly, this became the starting point for my veterinary career. It opened doors to exciting research and medical opportunities, including a short-lived interest in human medicine. My father being a gastroenterologist, human medicine represented a familiar and respectable career path. As a result, I shadowed several human medicine specialists. Although I did not find it as appealing as animal medicine, I discovered empathy for people and the desire to make a difference in both human and animal lives.

Vaccines are used to protect people entirely from disease, but “.vaccines exist for just a fraction of the 300 known infectious viruses” (Vaida). Only protecting against a few diseases is not enough to protect the world from a pandemic. There should be a surplus of vaccines to prepare for any major outbreak of diseases. The “. scarcity of vaccines for fast-spreading diseases.” is a threat, due to the fact that the world does not have a safety net to fall back on (Vaida). Without a strong supply of vaccines that can treat a wide variety of diseases, the world will not be prepared to defend against a pandemic.
There are hundreds of known infectious diseases in the world. These infectious diseases range from rather mild and unthreatening to severe, life-threatening diseases that can leave the victim with long-term disabilities. Good news for the seven billion people on Earth, scientists developed vaccines to prevent and protect against these fatal diseases. The creation of modern day vaccines began in the 1700’s with the first vaccines saving countless lives from smallpox. Vaccines save lives; lives of those vaccinated and lives of those not able to be vaccinated.
