Speaking from experience, having a child and attending school is a big obstacle in life. I have a great support system from my school and outside family. Not everyone have that, having a free childcare for students would be helpful. Many teen parents would stay in school, it will help produce a greater amount of teen parents graduating. They would take advantage in good ways, getting more involved in school activities. In-school free childcare will be a great support system for students with kids. In a Herald and Review article, a statement was made by many agencies saying, “55 in 1000 teens in Macon County get pregnant every year.” That would make it approximately 100 teen mothers if you combined both Eisenhower High School and MacArthur High School. …show more content…
They may feel like staying up late nights trying to handle both is too much to handle and/ or they find it hard for them to find someone to take care of their child while they attend. Sometimes parents could be overprotective and do not want their child to go with anybody. I’ve met many teen parents who have dropped out because they didn’t have a babysitter, which made it difficult for them to attend school. Many people would take advantage by actually going to school, getting their work done and also having family bonding time all at the same time. I made a survey October 16, 2017, one question asked, “Do you think teen parents would take advantage of this opportunity.” Majority said yes, because a lot of teen parents actually was involved in school and really enjoy going to school. More than 4 million women attend two-year public institutions or community colleges, and more than 1 million of them are mothers. We all know public school has its issues. There can be rude people or horrible teachers. Each person is forced to learn the exact same and act like one person. No one is an individual and is forced to act as a machine. Sadly these “machines” are humans, and do not work like a perfect robot. Many teens become overwhelmed with the stresses of high school and raising a baby; therefore, dropping out of school may seem like the best option. Attending school five days a week, studying for classes, and raising a baby would be overwhelming for most teens. One would have to pay for babysitting and many other expenses for the child that a part time job income could not cover. Dropping out of high school to work full time may seem like a great idea at the moment, but the jobs one applies for may be limited because the lack of a high school diploma.

One respective person believes that a restriction on having children should begin at the earliest stage of one’s life: birth. As soon as a child is born, doctors should “go in and turn off their spickets” (McRedmond). Schools can give responsibility to students but never without a cost. Students should have to chance to prove their worth to schools and show how responsible they can be as adults. When students go to college classes as high schoolers they sometimes tend to have more free time during those times. If a child has enough responsibility to take those classes they should have enough to leave school and be trusted to come back to school after their free time is over. Although leaving school early is not something that is smiled upon it should be because some students are ahead and can work their schedule to allow extra time because of hard work in early years.
