We hope this long over due letter, finds you doing well. It’s been a few years since we last saw each other. So to recap...we are the Rauk’s from Minnesota and about 10 years ago, we adopted your “Little Peanut,” Dewell. Over the years we attempted to update you about Dew, but never followed through. I felt the letters had to be well written, thought out and perfect...so they never got written. This is not a well written thougt out letter but it will be in the mail today! Ryan and I made a promise to Dewell, MANY years ago that we would take him to meet you. He’s always asking questions about you and still have your picture by his bed. Dew is very presistant and reminds us of our commitment about every month or two. Dew turned 13 years old this past September which made us realize...we are running out of time to keep our word. Where has the time gone? This year for Christmas we would like to surprise Dewell with his trip to Texas. Things for some reason are falling into place on our end. The time of year that works best for us would be the week of Christmas. Ryan hardly gets a whole week off at the fire station let alone during Christmas. We realize that the timing on your end might not be as perfect as it is for us and understand if it won’t work at this time. Everyone loves him, he’s always smiling, has a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He’s still very small for his age almost tipping the scale at 65lbs. His health is very good and rarely gets sick. His asthma is mostly under control, but he still has flare ups with the changing of the seasons. He still hates the winters here and gets cold very easy. His favorite place to eat is still McDonalds and chicken nuggets is the only meat he will eat. I could go on and on about him but need to save some of it for when you
