At the ripe old age of 18, my firm conviction is that experience builds character. Growing up, I have been through interesting times, some good and others bad. This, I feel, has made me who I am and what I stand for. I characterize myself as someone who is hungry to effect change, not just to the world, but in the way people look at the world. My experiences have guided me to the conclusion that my prime interest lies in Engineering. One of my earliest memories is of my grandfather calling out “Let’s fix this”. Very often, the two of us would be oblivious to what was happening around us, with greasy hands, screwdrivers and a stubborn gadget that my mother had declared dead. The satisfaction of bringing it back to life could never be equalled by any other experience. It grew, not by leaps and bounds but in little ways. I recall sitting in my father’s factory looking at the people working at something that I did not understand but was fascinated by. Over the next few years, I would closely observe the work done in my father’s factory, eventually learning processes like electroplating, heat transfer, vacuum metalizing and pressure die-casting. I soon got the opportunity to intern with factories in and around my city. I interned with Eminence Electro Appliances PVT. LTD, US Metal Products, and Octus International during my vacations. During these programs, I was introduced to Printed Circuit Board(PCB) designing, Surface-mount machines, Infrared and Radio Frequency technology in remote controls, LED and AC motor manufacturing processes, and ceiling-fan assembly. I also learnt about upcoming energy efficient devices like Smart LED street
