In life there are many people whom you encounter as well as interact with on a daily basis some may be for a day and others for you will know for a lifetime. one person that I know have had an impact on my life, and made me the person I am to day is my grandmother, Doris Watson. She is 70 years old and she stays in Westwego, LA. Whenever I am in her presence she puts a smile on my face. There is this old saying that I once heard as a child that says you know you truly love someone when they bring you a piece of your soul you never knew was missing. I never knew a piece of my soul was missing until I saw my grandmother. I smile and thank the Lord that I have her in my life. Why my grandmother is my role model? It seems that many people I have encountered have never been loyal to me in my life but my grandmother. My grandmother has always been there to show support for me in whatever I do. I am so amazed by her strength that it inspires me to become a better man. I recall a time when I was eight years old where my grandmother showed up to every one of my games to support me. Even when no one else could make it she found a way to come support me. She would always tell me good luck and how proud she was of me. Every game that I tried my best to win just for her. From then on I knew that her love for me was unconditional.

I believe the bond my grandmother and I have built has become a strong one. I and my grandmother’s bond is so strong that I can’t see nothing but God breaking it apart. All nineteen years of my life, my grandmother was there for me. Hospitals, juvenile correctional center, school, and anywhere else. She made sure she was there scooping me out of my downfalls. She calls and texts me every day to check up on me and to see what I am doing. As being my grandmother’s only grandson, she treats me like I am a king, and I really appreciate her.
