Many restaurants fail during their first year because of lack of planning and I can tell you this from my experienced that we had three years ago with our first Mexican restaurant. What I have learned from that experienced is to write out a plan and be financially prepared. Do as much research as possible on the location. Look into how much traffic there is? Is it a busy area? Is there enough parking? What businesses are near? Also, look into how much I can afford on the rent and for how long do I want the lease to be and be sure to understand all the details on the lease. Another option is to have a lawyer explain the lease, if I do not understand it and if there is any changes that I can negotiate with the landlord to change. Afterwards,
o Pay $200,000 up front for development fees and franchise fees for the first five stores
Since before I was born, my Hispanic heritage played a huge role in who I am and what I have achieved. My great-grandfather immigrated to this country with the desire to provide his family with a better future than his own. My grandpa grew up in Texas on the boarder of Mexico and traveled to Blue Island, Illinois as migrant crop worker. This desire passed down by my grandparents and my great-grandparents has played a tremendous role in propelling me to where I am today. Each generation sought to make the the lives of their children better than their own. My grandma received the opportunity to live in the country of opportunity from her father, and my grandpa paid for my mom to get an education. My mother pushed me to do my best in school and
The franchise must lease a building and buy all the proper equipment, dining room furniture, and pay all utilities and multiple employees to start up at a location. If the building is rented or leased, most owners must pay a percentage of sales to the landlord of the property. The trucks wouldn’t have any of these cons. Investing in food trucks would lower costs in every aspect. Buying only limited equipment for the trucks to cook and prepare food, and hiring a max of 4 employees per truck. As well the franchise who own multiple food trucks, it is ideal to have one big warehouse of all their product, produce, and where the preparing foods that will make it easier and faster for the trucks to cook up as the orders come rolling in. Whenever the trucks run low they can always drive back and stock or another franchise truck can take their spot. It will also make it less stressful on the company and keeping their main focus on the
I’m a Mexican-American. Growing up in a hispanic household has made me stand out from my classmates. In Appleton North High School, I am one out of the many few students that come from a Hispanic household. I often feel intimidated by my classmates but learned to love every bit of it. I am proud to know I am a successful student representing hispanics in my school; taking many AP classes as well as leadership. I plan to continue representing minority at my school as well as empowering young latinos to follow their dreams of attending college.
I want to be a very successful operator/owner. I want to out sell any other restaurants in my area.
I am Mexican-American. It took me years to finally be able to say that with a sincere feeling of pride. Both of my parents were born in Mexico and moved here before they had a chance to attend college, so my entire life I’ve been exposed to both Mexican culture and American culture. Instead of seeing my multi-cultured world as unique and special, I saw it as a sort of disadvantage, but as time went on and I became more educated on the successes of Mexican-Americans, I had a newfound understanding and appreciation of the culture which consequentially influenced my future aspirations.
Have you ever been to New Mexico? I can tell you from experience that it’s a very fun place.
In my life, the world I come from as well as my hispanic heritage has played a paramount role in positively impacting my life. For instance, the environment around me isn’t exactly ideal as the northern streets of Chicago are indeed callous. There is always headlines about some sort of violence and talk about it floating around me. It has even gotten to the point where my friend was shot and was about to lose his life. Not only that, the schools I have attended were public and in an unsafe neighborhood so there were always problems with students misbehaving. It was as if the problems never left the streets. However, while violent as they can be, it taught me to have a positive outlook on life. My family has always told me to strive to do better
The startup capital was limiting to the founders, as the inaugural restaurant covered a meagre 60 square meters with only six tables and basic seafood dishes like hake, calamari, kingklip and prawns. A further hurdle was courtesy of its then landlord, who imposed restrictions on what Ocean

Starting your own business can be an overwhelming experience, especially for those without a business background. Becoming a franchisee is often the first option that people consider when starting their first business. A franchise sometimes involves signing two agreements, a purchase agreement and the franchise agreement itself. The purchase agreement is a short document simply stating that, subject to a suitable site being found, the franchisee will enter into the contract set out in the franchise agreement provided, of course, that the franchisee has read and approved the franchise agreement within a reasonable time. Having accepted this condition the franchisee pays the franchisor a deposit which forms part of the initial fee. The search for a suitable site as well as associated research into planning, permitting, viability of the site, etc. can begin. If no suitable site is found, the deposit is usually returned. However, if the franchisee rejects the site or changes his/her mind about the franchise, the deposit is usually forfeited.
A new restaurant will benefit a community from an economical perspective because it will allow the flow of money to go from the people to the restaurant and then through taxes. These taxes will be put back into the community which will then be used to make the society better which in turn will help the people. In addition, a restaurant creates jobs and supports smaller local food producers which allow them to stay in business and not get overtaken by big corporations. When a new restaurant is opened there will obviously be employees to work for the restaurant because one person cannot do it on their ow...

The first step in any business is to think of or create a business idea. Without an idea, one cannot launch their business off the ground. A right direction is needed to create a business with a unique idea. However, other options include franchising or buying an existing business (1). Franchising allows an individual to run stores such as Burger King or McDonalds under the corporate name. It involves taking training classes and a heap of money in order to start a franchise. A Franchisee will have to buy products and services from the corporate entity they are franchising from, which is often required. Buying a franchise is like taking a piece of the pie from the company that is franchising and sharing that pie with everybody else. In addition having a franchise allows one to communicate and in essence become a big part of an added business opportunity (4). Franchising is far from easy to start and maintain for that matter. Starting a franchise involves a l...
