Early childhood development lays the foundation for future learning. It refers to the many skills and milestones that children are expected to reach by certain time especially within the first five year of age. These milestones include learning how to run, how to talk using simple sentences and how to play with others. In most cases, this type of development occurs naturally when parents and children spend time playing, preparing dinner or looking at books together. Haiti is a very small island, which used to be called “La Perle des Antilles” or in English “The Pearl of the Antilles” because of its beauty. However, my mother told me was allergic to dust at the age of six. My body was covered with acne that I couldn’t go to school for almost a month. I thinks it’s my fondest memory because I don’t recall that at all except for the fact that I have some dark spot on my legs due to that allergy As I was getting older, being a middle child wasn’t easy for me, I felt I was an outsider, I used to do a lot chores such as cleaning and cooking. My mother taught me how to cook my favorite food, a Haitian food call “Diri ak djondjon” meaning “Rice with dry mushrooms” serve with Hans’s chicken sauce. Most of the time, I felt I was being neglected by parents while the eldest and youngest siblings got all the attention. They were so spoiled that we, the other children, used to confront our parents for not being their favorite. Thinking about it now, being a middle the child wasn’t that bad, but it could have cause to have low self- esteem and to be resentful, especially if was the only middle .Although I didn’t like being a middle child, it did help me to better myself and make the person I’m today. Now that I ‘m an adult, I have nothing to reproach my parent instead I want to thank them for making this beautiful independent person that I am inside and outside. I very confident and proud of
