A personal narrative tells the true story of something that happened to you. Personal narratives is a form of writing in which the writer narrates one experience, event from his/her life. Personal narratives also allow the writer, to share his/her life with others, feeling the things you describe. As a writer, your job is to put the readers in the focus of the action, allowing them to live through an incident or experience. Personal narratives also include rich descriptive details, as well as the opinions, outlooks, and responses of the writer. An example of a personal narrative would be a good story like my life story. One of the quotation that I found relevant in the story was, “But the fact is, I have only shot a gun once and once was plenty. My twin 9 sister, Amy, and I were six years old—six—when Dad decided that it was high time we learned how to shoot. Amy remembers the day he handed us the gun for the first time differently. She liked it. Amy shared our father’s enthusiasm for firearms and the quick-draw w cowboy mythology surrounding them” This quotation bring memories back to my childhood during the war. My father used to take us for shooting lesson with my late sister that I lost in the war. Coincidentally enough Sarah Vowell and I share just about the same view on guns. She is against guns just as much as I am against guns and war. What I found most similar about this story is that her sister, on the other hand, shared her father’s enthusiasm for firearms. My late sister, however, shared my father and my late uncle point of view on
