It was May now, and Ashley and I had been talking about when she would take her hat off. She only had a couple of bald spots showing. We decided by June that it should be entirely covered and then she would stop wearing her hat, but the Lord changed our plans. He told us in two weeks she was to take her hat off. Two weeks came, and her head still had a few bald spots. Heart-broken, we both knew what had to be done. On the way to school, she put her hat on her head. Trying not to cry, I told her that she couldn’t wear her hat. Looking unhappy, she said that she was going to take it off once we got to school. She then told me that the children were going to tease her. When we arrived at school, she did not want to take her hat off. …show more content…
Both my lawyer and then his questioned me. I was also asked to bring a monthly expense sheet and a copy of my paycheck stub. My lawyer reminded them that my husband had stopped paying support after I left the house in August 1999, to move in with my mother. His attorney picked my expense sheet apart. He stated that I was only six dollars short of my expenses a month. Instead of doing my net a month, he did my monthly gross. That amount was about $1600. My net amount was at least half of that. Hours had passed, and it was time to leave when my lawyer asked my husband to show his paycheck stub. Instantly his lawyer went into a rage. “You said you did not have anything else to say,” he said to my lawyer. “I have another appointment,” he stated while getting up from the table. “We are finished!” My lawyer stated that both parties were here and it was only fair that my husband shows a copy of his paycheck stub since I had already done so. “I do not have time for this!” his attorney shouted. “My client is not prepared!” It was suggested that we make another appointment. “I live in Georgia, and I cannot keep taking time off from work to come back here,” my husband answered angrily. “I may be able to take time off again in about three …show more content…
I told him all I had was a business card that he had given my daughter with his name on it and phone numbers. I asked him why and he told me that his lawyer had sent him copies of my husband’s pay stubs from 1998 as if to say that he still had the same job. I was told to fax the business card to his office, and he would call me later if anything new developed. It was the middle of June when I met Prophetess Earlycut. I had heard her on the radio one day taking calls from listeners. She spoke with such authority and excitement for the Lord. There was a Father’s Day luncheon at Ashley’s school. Dee and I went since we were both mother and father. After the luncheon, Prophet Earlycut began to prophesy to the fathers. We decided to stay over and help clean up. She came to me and gave me a hug. It was then that she began to prophesy to me. “You are a precious jewel to Him. You have so much joy. There is an angel with you. He’s fighting your battles. The enemy has thrown so many things at you. Some you do not even know about because your angel has been battling him. If he could, he would have destroyed you, but because of your angel, he could not touch
Unique Menswear was owned by three pastors from the church I attended every Sunday (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). However, one Sunday the pastor wife came and ask was I currently seeking employment (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). I stated that I am seeking employment but haven’t been successful in finding employment with my current resume (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). She stated to fill out the application for Unique Menswear and they will call me immediately (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). I went on Tuesday to receive the application and completed it (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). However, the application was returned on Wednesday (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). An interview was set for the following Monday (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). A job offer was received the following day. The job offer was accepted, and my training started immediately (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). However, the owner had some trust issues from the past (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). Mr. Joe trained got to know me very well and trained me exactly the way he operates the business (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). After 2 weeks I begin to work alone opening and closing the store (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). He was able to trust me with a key and the operation of monies daily (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). He entrusted me with the business so much that he went on a cruise for one week with no worries about the business (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). Two months later I informed Mr. Joe I was relocating to Hawaii and I was giving my 30 day notice to ensure he find a replacement for my position with the company (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). Mr. Joe appreciated me for taking care of the operation of the business as if it was my business (Ferrell,
Paralegals are continuing to assume new responsibilities in legal offices and perform many of the same duties as attorneys. Through formal education, training and experience, paralegals have knowledge and expertise regarding the legal system and law procedures, which qualify them to work under the supervision of an attorney. Along with preparing legal documents, contracts and other legal materials, a paralegal can also interview witnesses, and conducting legal research. The most important task a paralegal may have is helping an attorney prepare for hearings, trials, and meetings. Although a paralegal is trained to perform the same tasks as attorneys, they are explicitly prohibited from carrying out duties considered to be within the scope of the practice of law, such as setting legal fees, giving legal advice, submitting signed documents to court, and presenting cases in court. Paralegals are an essential part of today’s legal practice; furthermore, a competent paralegal can improve a law office’s profitability and the delivery of legal services. With these new responsibilities comes a higher level of demand and respect. In turn...
The following week she begins going to the synagogue with her grandmother and grandfather learning about the Jewish faith. She also begins going to the Promise Land School of Israel. The first day of school Faith was a whirlpool of emotions: scared, excited, worried, anxious, and happy. As she embarks on her first day of school she walks with her grandmother. Along the way she meets two girls, Hope and Grace. Hope and Grace are both in the seventh grade and will be in the same classes as Faith. As Faith,Hope, and Grace walk together into school Faith says goodbye to her grandmother. Grace and Hope introduce themselves to Faith. “Hi, I’m Hope.”says one and “I’m Grace says the other. My name is Faith. “Faith where did you move from?” says Hope. “Sodom and Gomorrah” says Faith.”Interesting,” says Hope. As they finish their brief conversation, they walk into their first class of the day. They have Science with Ms.Ishmael, Arithmetic with Mr. Jerusalem, and Hebrew and Middle Eastern History with Mr. Nebucanezzer. Faith,Hope, and Grace enter Mr.Nebecanezzer’s class. “Good morning class!” Mr.Nebucanezzer says. “We will be studying the Christology of Jesus today.” As the lesson continues Faith is confused about who Jesus is but interested in learning more. During lunch, Faith sits with Hope and Grace. Faith asks the question that's been gnawing at her since Mr.Nebucanezzer class. “Is Jesus really “ the” Messiah”
I placed a call to Thomas, who was frantic, but extremely grateful that his wife was safe. After a period of conversation, Thomas related that his suffers from a psychosis metal condition. Thomas related that he checked himself out of the hospital and was unaware Margaret had taken her day’s medication. Thomas requested that I take Margaret to the local hospital for medical evaluation due to her detreating mental status. I then transported Margaret to Jefferson Hospital Crisis Center where I remained until evaluated by medical staff. Thomas was then notified of the hospital and his Margaret’s status. Thomas was very grateful and related that he was responding immediately this morning. No further police action
My Lawyer dictated everything, who, how, when, and time limit, thinking that everything should take less time than actually necessary. As I learned working toward my Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, I discovered there were things and procedures that we were improperly doing. Some were actually criminal, when I brought the areas that we needed to change to her attention. She did not want to hear that, it was her business and anyway I was just a Paralegal and she had a Juris Doctorate degree and a Licensed Lawyer (Werner,
After watching her family being led into the woods and hearing gunshots, the desperate grandmother tried to save herself. She called upon Jesus and tried to use every trick she could think of, including telling the Misfit, “You’ve got good b...
When the initial time and place of the interview is in place, I will mark it down on the calendar. Everything must be neatly organized and confidential documents need to be kept out of sight of clients. There are cases where the interview gets emotional for the clients and they tend to cry, there needs to be tissue at the clients reach for their convenience, if at any time they have the need to grab one. When client's arrive a formal smile and a handshake is given, afterwords I introduce myself as ''I am Yesenia Lopez, a paralegal employee with this firm.'' ''My role as a paralegal is to prepare your divorce forms for you, tell you where these forms need to be filed to, make phone calls to the appropriate parties,

I needed you to respond more quickly to the email regarding my mother coming into town. It took 4 days for you to respond, which is very lackadaisical on your part. In turn, she couldn’t book a trip back home until we knew that we were going to have the children for the extended time. We both greatly appreciate your response when it was given, the children are having a wonderful time with Grandma. Thank you for agreeing to us having them for this time. I have been more than happy to oblige in a swift manner when you need to change scheduling. For example, when you wanted to change the location to Starbucks in Golden Hill, I responded briskly with enough time for you to plan. When you used your attorney to tell me that your mother would be picking up the children. You did not ask for my consent, I was told and yet, I accommodated your request. You haven’t been willing to work with me
In addition, PROS instructed Kincade not to work from home in an effort to improve his performance. This is a legitimate, non-retaliatory reason for the personnel action about which he complains. When Elliott Williams had trouble finding Kincade at work after Kincade had been assigned to a new project, Williams believed he needed to be at work to improve his performance and instructed him not to work from home. Williams Aff. ¶ 14. PROS also had a legitimate reason for requesting a doctor's note based on his attendance issues. Kincade sometimes stated that the reason that he showed up late to work and/or left early without notifying his manager was because he had doctor's appointments. As a result, Williams required a doctor's note for the time away from work. Williams Aff. ¶ 16. Because Kincade has insufficient evidence that these reasons are false or that retaliation was a motivating factor, his retaliation claim fails as a matter of law.
It seems unbelievable my oldest is a few days off being a decade old. I know every parent wonders “where has the time gone?” a multitude of times during their children’s childhoods, but as I realize my son is over halfway to 'adulthood' it seems like the time has flown by.
The struggle of not being able to breathe properly, gasping for air while the fever inside was killing me little by little and my fragile self in the age of four did not know what was happening to me I was brain dead, more like clueless little kid almost having a near death experience of having a seizure that in the end it changed my life and the way I looked at it because God gave me another chance to actually prove to him that I can be someone in my life and grateful to be alive today knowing that I have family that actually loves me for who I am.
I hired a very reasonable lawyer, who never let me fall into the provocation. I couldn’t understand her because I wanted her to destroy my ex-husband in the same way he was trying to destroy me, but she insisted that her objective was to win the trial for me and not destroying anybody.
