Since I had first seen a commercial of Atlantis, visiting the Bahamas was the place I desired going to. The view from the five-star hotel was magnificent and their beautiful beaches were remarkable. I couldn't wait any longer to experience this!
At the time of my discovery of Atlantis, I had only needed a month of school before summertime, and that month felt like an eternity. During that month, my family decided to plan the trip because we had heard that the trip would satisfy not just myself, but everyone coming along. The day of my grandparents had told me they have been wanting to go to the Florida Keys and asked if I would like to join. So of course i wanted to go. Oh and when they told me i could bring a friend along i was jumping with happiness inside. They told me we would be going for a couple weeks and they had all expenses covered. The trip included my mom, my best friend, her mom, and me. My spring break was being spent in Puerto Rico. Puerto Rico is very different than New York making it an adventure seeing as it was my first time ever going there. Going to a new place or even somewhere you’ve been before means you’re going to see new things and try new things. That was particularly what got me so excited for the trip in the first place.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. Coming to Haiti I did not know what to expect. As soon as I stepped off the plane I was filled with mixed feelings on weather I would be able to appreciate and take in an environment that I have never stepped foot in. The air smelled different, the pace felt slower than America and the people appeared to have a communal camaraderie that I have never seen before. The sad part is, my mind was conditioned to expect Haiti to be a sloven third world country, however my time here has proven quite the opposite. I look forward to the adventures and experience awaiting to come.
Growing up in Jamaica, I enjoyed worship. I remembered looking forward to church. We clapped our hands and stomped our feet and made a joyful noise unto the Lord. We didn't have keyboards and drums. We clapped and sounded like timbrels. I remembered when I learned to testify and it helped me and several others to build our confidence. I would sing in the local churches when they have special events. I watched young people being filled with the Holy Ghost and I wanted it so badly that I would pray and ask God to give it to me. I remembered watching my mother and my sister speak in tongues and I so wanted to do it.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a giant cruise ship in front of my eyes.It took two whole days but we finally reached Florida where we went Rock Gliding.It’s where you have to get past a giant,rocky maze.The winner gets to cans of ice cream.Though my sister won,we all shared the ice cream.Next stop,the Bahamas!!!In the bahamas we went parasailing up 700 ft above water level,it was so much fun.The boat driver even let us touch the smooth,light blue water with our feet.Finally, we ended with a relaxing dolphin swim on the soft,delicate beach of Jamaica.
Out of all the trips I have taken, Cancun was definitely the best. It was 2013 and I was in fifth grade. I had known about the trip for weeks and I was so amped up for the plane ride, for the hotel, and especially the ocean. I was in science and the teacher was getting mad because I was distracting all the kids by jittering all over the place. Finally I heard my name called over the intercom and I leaped for joy and ran out of the classroom. From school we drove to the Iowa Airport, got our tickets and loaded onto the plane. Our first plane took us to Chicago, Illinois where we boarded a plane , at the O’Hare International Airport, departing for Cancun,Mexico. The second plane was very lengthy, I tried to sleep but I didn’t actually fall asleep
In 2009, my parents and I decided to travel to San Antonio, Texas for vacation. My parents and I have traveled there before, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back. With many places to see and do; my parents thought that we should go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It was at this theme park, where something happened that I would never forget.
This past summer, my family and I went on a cruise to the Bahamas. We had just docked at the second port, Nassau, and were preparing to exit the gigantic ship named the Carnival Fantasy. Once we got to the city, I noticed it was bustling with people of all different backgrounds and cultures. The roads were narrow and some even hilly. I remember coming to the conclusion that a lot of people in the Bahamas must have road rage what from the blaring car horns I could hear around every corner. My family and I were walking along the sidewalk, glancing into shops as we passed them. The weather was unbearably hot, but growing up in South Carolina allowed my family and I to push onward with our adventure. The sun burn on my back started to pulsate in pain any time the sunlight hit it, so we decided to stick to the side of the buildings that provided shade.
The trip to Florida over Christmas break was unlike any other. Yes, most people would jump at the opportunity to go to Florida after a winter like we had up to that point. So, let me give you some background on why the trip. Back in July my mother in-law had an epileptic seizure that rendered her in a coma, she has not awoken from and the doctors are pushing to let her go. She has been moved 3 hours from my brother in-laws house to Georgia. Thanks to our lovely health care system, it was the only place available that could take care of her needs. Perfect timing kids are out of school and it is a good time to travel so you would think. I have been out of work
Watching cool waters form the beautiful waves hitting the shoreline of the Jamaican beaches, I experienced a vacation that formed one of my life’s most meaningful encounters. In July of 2016, my family went on a cruise to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. At the port, we bought passes to tour the entire Ocho Rios island on a van owned by Jamaican natives. Our driver introduced us to the richer parts of the area. We began the tour in the richer parts of Ocho Rios.
This 4th of July I went to L.A. with my roommate to visit his family. I had been promising myself that I would go to the Queen Mary in Long Beach for the last three times I was in L.A. and this time I was determined to go. So After I had seen the fireworks at the La Verne high school.
Each of us had learned something from that trip. For me, this experience has taught me what gratitude is, the impact a good attitude has, what a servant looks like, and really how the relationships we make with our life are the most important aspect of life. It was the summer after my freshman year of high school. Earlier in the year, my parents had decided that they wanted to go on a mission trip as a family and serve somewhere.

Throughout someone’s life they will go to many places with their family, friends, another relatives. I have been on a few vacations that have made a lasting impact on my life. But one of the most memorable vacations I have experienced was with my cousins. I went to goa beach. Most of you probably don’t know about that beach but it is a very famous one in south India. I enjoyed myself to the fullest. The beach environment was enlightening. I would not have wanted to take this trip with anyone other than my cousins. We had a great time on the ocean sands and swimming in the ocean everyday made this vacation unforgettable.
