Out of all the trips I have taken, Cancun was definitely the best. It was 2013 and I was in fifth grade. I had known about the trip for weeks and I was so amped up for the plane ride, for the hotel, and especially the ocean. I was in science and the teacher was getting mad because I was distracting all the kids by jittering all over the place. Finally I heard my name called over the intercom and I leaped for joy and ran out of the classroom. From school we drove to the Iowa Airport, got our tickets and loaded onto the plane. Our first plane took us to Chicago, Illinois where we boarded a plane , at the O’Hare International Airport, departing for Cancun,Mexico. The second plane was very lengthy, I tried to sleep but I didn’t actually fall asleep …show more content…
I have never waited so long in my life, it took and hour and a half just to get three bags out to where the pickup was. We finally got our bags and took a shuttle to the Crown Paradise Hotel. This Hotel was so nice. It had a mini golf course, three pools(1 inside,2 outside), A basketball court, a movie theatre, etc. My hotel room was also super nice there were too connecting rooms so finally for once I got my own bed. The first day I did the most common and went to the beach. The sand was super hot and I’m not too fond of salt water, it just makes swimming in the ocean ten times worse. Then at night I played ping pong and pool against my dad. Then the rest of the week I would go swim in the outside pool or play futsal(soccer on pavement). I always came back with at least one blister on my foot. The worst thing about this trip was the sunburn, in cancun it's way hotter and it's so easy too get burned. This also made it hard because, since the water is so bad whenever I wanted water I would have to walk all the way to the elevator and then all the way down this long hallway to the gift shop and would buy a water bottle then go all the way back to my room. The food although was super good besides there breakfast and ketchup. The last day was the hardest it took so long trying to get on the plane and the car ride was so boring. But that’s my favorite
We walked around San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico a little. Then we went to the ferry that was taking us where to Culebra. It was about 1pm by now. The ferry ride was about an hour and a half long ride. It was raining a little so we couldn’t sit outside of the boat and see the view. I ended up falling asleep for about half the ride. When we finally got to Culebra, we were so happy. It wasn’t raining anymore, the sun was out, and it was beautiful. At the time we didn’t have car so we were kinda stuck there. After a half hour of calling places to see if they had any cars for rental we finally found a place. We rented two big black jeeps for the next 10 days. When we got the cars and we could drive them around, we drove up the mountain to the house we were staying at for the
When we left the hotel, my parents had a tough time finding the theme park. There were so many overpasses and lanes, my dad missed the exit a few times. Luckily, my dad finally got off at the right exit. When we first arrived, I was so excited. I had never seen so many seen so many people in one place, and the climate was very different compared to El Paso. I remember listening to the roars of the roller coasters and the screams of the people on them. We finally got into the park. As we entered, I remember it being very humid and moist. There were so many different smells coming from the restaurants.
I took a trip to Colorado In July of 2015 it was the best week of my life. The best part of that week was the day that I got to spend in rocky mountain national park. It was a great experience with beautiful scenery and wildlife everywhere you looked. This trip changed everything I thought about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do when I am finished with my schooling.
My personal experience is the time I went on a plane ride for my very first time. It was crazy trying to get to the check points because of all the people that were trying to get to their destination and me going through the TSA checkpoints. Then waiting for the plane to arrive was very annoying and time consuming. Finally the plane ride across the country and arriving in Mexico. In the end it was very exciting and a little scary my very first time going on a plane ride.
As my family and I walked into the plane, we were excited. The plane ride to jamaica stopped in L.A. and, after that, it went to jamaica. When we arrived in Jamaica it was really hot, but it was wet. I immediately took off my sweater I was wearing on the plane. We took a bus to our hotel. Then we started swimming in the water park. Every night there was a show in the main stage. The next day we woke up early to go to chukka. It was awesome. We saw a great house, rode on horses, and did a challenge course. After we came back from Chukka, we went to the water park and swimming pool at the hotel. Then we ate at fresh, which we went most of the time. The next day we woke up earlier to go to the dolphin cove. The bus was an hour late, but the wait
It was a cool, June morning, I had my bags packed and ready to go, and just like that I was on the road to Niagara Falls! We started by getting up at five O'clock in the morning.I remember waking up to the smell of french toast, bacon, and eggs. We packed our bags in the truck, then hit the road!
When I was in the seventh grade, our class went on a field trip to Cherokee, North Carolina. The trip lasted four days and three nights, but the adventure would last a lifetime. The experience allowed me to learn many things about myself and to reflect on the beauty that was all around me. We departed at six-thirty in the morning, and I was so excited. I had never been away on a school trip for longer than a few hours. I tossed my purple duffel bag into the storage compartment, found my seat by the window, and prepared for what I knew would surely be an unforgettable adventure.
As I opened my eyes, I saw a giant cruise ship in front of my eyes.It took two whole days but we finally reached Florida where we went Rock Gliding. It’s where you have to get past a giant, rocky maze. The winner gets to cans of ice cream.Though my sister won,we all shared the ice cream.Next stop, the Bahamas!!!In the bahamas we went parasailing up 700 ft above water level,it was so much fun.The boat driver even let us touch the smooth, light blue water with our feet. Finally, we ended with a relaxing dolphin swim on the soft, delicate beach of Jamaica.
Now going through border control to get back home was the slow part, they had to check birth certificates, check the car for drugs (which we obviously had nothing, but it was routine.) and asking if everyone in the car was a U.S Citizen. I was so glad to see red, white, and blue waving so beautifully in the air. I felt safe again, not that parents weren’t going to protect me in Mexico if something happened, but just knowing that there are people in America here to protect me, it’s comforting. We do have family in Brownsville, Texas so while we were cruising by we decided to stop by stay the night. We talked all day long about our wonderful time in Linares and made some very good enchiladas. But we couldn’t stay too long so we packed up and headed on home to the Sunshine State, we had no idea that are loved ones had planned a surprise Welcome Home party, it was an amazing way to end our summer. Defiantly one to remember.
The life in Cancun isn’t just like you see it when you go for a vacation to a hotel or a resort. When you go to Cancun, it is the most beautiful place ever, as soon as you get down from the plane, you look around and you are surrounded by trees, and you can even hear the waves in the ocean. You have the people from the resort waiting for you in a big van and they grab your bags and take to wherever your resort is. On the way there, it’s just so beautiful and everyone is so friendly, and there is a lot of Americans down there as well.
My first day there was amazing because I found out that the next day I would go see ancient Aztec pyramids, so I would definitely need to rest up for the big day. The next day came and I couldn't wait to go see the ancient pyramids. I got there in a big touristy type bus and it was packed to the brim full of people which wasn't very comfortable, however we got through it.When I got there people were trying to sell my family and I weird wooden carvings, but we said no.Then we saw it the ancient pyramids
I actually went to Mexico for the first time in 2007, when I was 12. The whole experience was not what I expected but it to be, because I still had a childish mentality at the time. From that perspective, I did not look at my surroundings and digest what they meant. So because of my lack of understanding, I felt compelled to go back a few years later.
Our first stop was San Jose. We arrived late at night, so after we checked into the Don Carlos and found our rooms, a group of us went to go find food. We ended up eating at a pretty fancy restaurant about a block away from the hotel. It was pretty expensive and it was late at night so we got a pizza to go, but this would be nothing like the other things we would eat. The next day we went to the Jardin de Meriposas, or butterfly garden. They have many different kinds of beautiful butterflies. We had a guide talk to us about a lot of the different kinds as well as the different plants and their purposes for all of the different butterfly species. He even showed us an effective way to catch butterflies without harming them. We also rode around and looked at some of the historical landmarks and buildings around the town. For lunch, we stopped and went into the market. There we had our first of many traditional Costa Rican meals. I got arroz con pollo, or chicken and rice. They eat a lot of chicken with rice and beans. Throughout the rest of the market it was extremely crowded with vendors all around. We returned to the hotel that afternoon. Mark and I went to check out the park nearby and returned for salsa class. That was fun, but definitely a work out. We did more than just salsa. We also did some traditional Costa Rican dances which were very fast paced. We relaxed and packe...
At the very end of the sophomore year, when I heard my mom wanted me to go to Peru, I was so unwilling to go, for I thought my summer was going to be hanging out with friends in China! I said to her: “Are you kidding? Peru? The Amazon River? The JUNGLE??? Did you ever think about how dangerous it would be?” However, now I am so glad that I went on that trip, because it gave me so many surprises and precious memories. Going on that trip is one of the smartest decisions I have ever made.
My most memorable family vacation took place two years ago. We went to Corsica, a French island situated in the south of France right next to Italy. I remembered waking up early excited to visit this new land. Used to take long flights, I was surprised to arrive to the destination after a one-hour flight. Even though the flight was short for me, it was stressful for my mom, she has never felt secured in a plane, probably due to the fact that she is afraid of height. When finally arrived at the destination, the dry and warm weather was there to welcome us. We all felt relief, and knew that this was the beginning of the summer. Excited, we had a lot of activities planned for the few weeks, me and my father could not wait to dive in the clear
