Cross country is a very rewarding and valuable sport. Not many people realize how exhilarating it can feel until they run a mile in my shoes. I had started running when I was in eleventh grade. I've always had a passion for running, but it never crossed my mind about how I might enjoy running competitively. I came out to one of the Cross country practices to try it out and I instantly fell in love with the sport. When I had first started running competitively, it was very challenging. I realized that Cross country is a sport that takes a lot of determination and passion and hard work. I also came to the conclusion that once I set my mind to something I am able to accomplish anything I want in my life. Success doesn’t come easy, people think that things can be handed to them in life. As my favorite basketball players, Kevin Durant says, “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.” I believe in this one hundred percent and I live by this quote everyday in my life which motivates me to be the best person I can be. I believe in my team and they believe in me as well because in my eyes team stands for ‘Together Everyone Achieves More’ and that is the attitude we will have next season to take home 1st place.
Cross country taught me a lot about myself and illustrated that I should always strive to be a better person. Getting a little bit better everyday quickly adds up and makes me one step closer to greatness. I have multiple goals and aspirations that might seem too far-fetched, but for me, it seems like an ordinary task with a proper mindset. That is why I want to better and further my education in the University of Central Florida.
