After completing the test, the letters that represent me the most are E.S.F.P. An Extraversion bearing of energy is mainly focused on others rather than being self centered. My dad described me as perky, cheerful and happy, my mom says beautiful, gentle, and self-conscious. These adjectives describe me accurately, yet they are only abstract versions of me. Adjectives cannot begin to describe me and I aknowlege these descriptions for what they are, a condensed translation from my outward self to the world. It is impossible for anyone to understand me completely because nobody has experienced the things I have. My mother has never cherished a raggedy doll named Katie and my father never spent hours upon hours making collages and scrap books for his future children. My uncle never hid in the back of a pick-up-truck and traveled four hours to New York and my grandmother has never walked hours in the rain looking for the Queen of England. My identity is something only I can define.
Perception and intellectual apprehension are modes of sensory information input. It is simply an awareness of the mind receiving a stimulus. If these two are thought of as data input, inference would be thought of as data output. To infer, one must first perceive and apprehend information first. Then, from collected information via the human senses, judgments are formulated to conclude things that the human senses cannot grasp alone.
There has yet to be any determining evidence defines the characteristics of extraversion. The experimenters in this particular experiment have hypothesized that the facets of extraversion are somehow linked by reward sensitivity. This hypothesis was also tested against a model in which they are linked by sociability. There has been much work on this topic in the past, beginning with the works of Jung and James in the early 20th century—to the work of Watson and Clark in 1997. And even after a century of study, they are still unable to truly define the characteristics of the extraversion dimension of personality. In the many attempts to define extraversion, Watson and Clark have defined six basic facets of the personality trait. These are: venturesome, affiliation, positive affectivity, energy, ascendance, and ambition. Researchers Depue and Collins, in 1999, also offered a more succinct depiction of the characteristics of extraversion, this only having three basic parts. The first being affiliation, the enjoyment and value of close interpersonal bonds, also being warm and affectionate. The second, agency, being socially dominant, enjoying leadership roles, being assertive and exhibitionistic, and having a sense of potency in accomplishing goals. The final facet being impuslivity, but this one has been argued upon whether it should be included at all in the characteristics of extraversion at all.
Sensing is how we take in information from our surrounding world (Kroeger, Thuesen, & Rutledge, 2002). I believe that one can clearly see how being a sensor is beneficial for any member of the military. We rely on what we know, we make decisions based on intelligence, and very seldom do we conduct any kinds of operations without having facts to support us. For me, this assignment was amazing when I heard about it. I was able to see how I am viewed from a different perspective and really step back and think about it. The personality test told me that I was an ENFP. After looking at strengths, weaknesses, and the overall topics, I am an ENFP personality one hundred percent. Because of the fight between being introverted yet agreeable, I have developed a close minded personality. I dislike change, and I am afraid to try new things. This further explains why I would rather be at home in a familiar setting rather than out with a large group at an unfamiliar place. I do not know what to expect, thus new things are prone to happen. The Big Five Personality Profile displays that I am approachable, generous, accommodating, and eager to compromise with fellow peers.
