Where does one begin to explain what their ideal job is? There are so many things that run through my mind when I think about my ideal job; such as compensation, benefits, culture, impact, and an overwhelming feeling of empowerment from the work related to said position. In my undergraduate degree program I had the pleasure of taking a course titled Self Discovery as an elective instructed by Dean Bosley-Boyce. I remember when I signed up for the class I didn’t have any expectations and didn’t really know how fundamental a class like this would for me. As we begun the coursework I made a hasty assumption that this was just about resume building. I was completely wrong! My grandmother used to say that what you dream about for your life may not be an exact fit for what your purpose is. Knowing myself and having had an opportunity to discover more about my learning style, working style, and overall personality allows me to look at this assignment in a much different light. Consequently, as I think about the course material we’ve reviewed thus far I think my ideal job would encompass an organization that is rich in culture, pays me a fair salary, yields affordable medical benefits, allows me to continue to grow as an individual, and impacts my life positively so that I may impact the lives of others in the most positive manner
