Success Success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose. At least that's the definition of it, but can you really describe success in just seven words. I don’t think so. Success isn’t a set in the stone ideal for everyone. Success is short term, long term, financial, feelings and plenty other aspects of our lives. Success for one person could sound completely horrible to another person and vice versa. How does America view success, and how has it changed throughout time? Some may say that success in America is still viewed as the the white picket fence. How does success change from one person to another? We get the feeling of success when we achieve something. So does that mean you achieve success when you outwardly receive an accomplishment? Chester Bennington was the lead singer of Linkin Park and super successful being known all over the world. He achieved his goal of spreading his music and was an extremely relevant even up to his death. He committed suicide earlier this year and It came to a shock to not only his fans but to his family. People were asking how could a man who was not only famous for what he loved to do but filthy rich? He was the picture of success. People can achieve many material wants, but it doesn’t do anything unless you can be happy without it. Someone like chester bennington had achieve outward success as much as humanly possible, but he was broken inside. When my mother had separated from my stepdad we were financially dead, and my mom filed for bankruptcy. We rented a cheap apartment where I shared a room with not only my younger sister but younger brother as well. I was also going through puberty at that time so being walked in constantly was, fun. Although we were all living on top each other, we were happy. My mom could finally take a breath of fresh air, and be content with environment she was in. Now people may wonder how could all of us feel happier in a cramped apartment and bankrupt. My mom lost pretty much all the material stuff she owned, but she gained her sense of self. I would take my sober, bankrupt mom rather than drunk, financially secure mom anyday. Many people have nice cars, nice houses, and can get whatever they desire without a thought. However what does that count when they don’t have success
