Movie Analysis Paper Good friends are hard to find, and even harder to keep. In the novel Perks of Being a Wallflower, and in the movie Sandlot the main characters both struggle to fit in, and make friends. In both the movie and the novel, there is the friends that are there for the main character right away. There are also the people that take a while to become friends, but they end up coming through. Lastly, they both have family members that are there for them while they try to fit in. Both characters try their best to find friends, but they did not have the best of luck right away. Eventually they both found that one person who they got along with really well. Patrick, and Benny are two really important characters. Patrick is obviously the one who becomes friends with Charlie in Perks. Benny is the one who becomes friends with Scotty in the Sandlot. On page 19 in Perks Patrick said, “Hey you’re in my shop class!” This is the first time that Patrick talked to Charlie, and it was at the football game. They ended up going to the Big Boy after the game where they hung out, and got to know each other. That is when they became good friends. Now in the movie “The Sandlot” …show more content…

Charlie and Scotty both having supporting families that are there for them. In perks on page 209 Charlie says “The thing that helped me the most, though, was the time I could have visitors. My family, including my brother and sister, always came for those days until my brother had to go back to school to play football.” This proves to show that his family was there for him when he needed them the most, and the just wanted him to be happy. Also, in the movie Scotty has a mom who wanted him to go out, and make friends, she even told him to get into some trouble, and do things that boy’s do. She just wanted him to be happy just like Charlie's family. Happiness is key. Both characters struggled in their lives, but they made friends and had family that were there for
