I can say that throughout history, the parties of colonial America, and present time have changed dramatically according to my research on the topic. Those who were in favor of a strong central government and industrial growth had been named as the minority party, Federalists, and Anti-Federalists, or Democratic-Republicans had wanted limited government intervention and power. The Federalists sided with England, and the Democratic-Republicans with Revolutionary France.
