On a Pew Research center survey, 61% of the parents of adolescents ages 13-17, "checked which online website their adolescents are visiting.” The internet was developed to enhance the usage of technology for the human society, as well as can be helpful to develop other resources to improve the world. It helped the humanity to find information quicker and more efficient. As a result, adolescents begin to use the internet as a source of communication and the usage of social media, thus caused cyberbullying, posting inappropriate pictures, and illegal activities. Moreover, the trustworthy relationship of communication between the parents and their children can turn into the wrongful use of spyware. Furthermore, according to article, "Is it OK to spy on your children?", Clune argues, "so do we really want to deprive them of any notion of privacy? And within that tiny privilege, the freedom to express themselves in the way that children always have?" (Clune par.14). This proves that parents should give their children freedom as well as a privacy, independent life rather than taking that freedom away. According to Cecilia Pastorino, from the article, "Controlling children's use of technology: a preventive measure or an invasion of privacy," asserts that " the key is not about which control you choose, but rather in the conversation around it and in accompanying the child in the digital world, just as we do in the physical world" (Pastorino). This proves that there are other ways to protect adolescent for the online world rather than overprotecting them and making them uncomfortable. This also shows that instead of stalking them 24/7, parents should do what they normally do in reality and do it in the online world, having the child feel safe and protective. Additionally, according to the article, "Invading Privacy in the Name of Safety," Darling claims, "all people have an inherent right to dignify and control of their private thoughts and their sense of who they are."(Darling). This illustrates that adolescent should have their own privacy instead of parents stalking them. Also, everyone should have their own freedom, whether parents are spying on their children, they still can have their own privacy. Parents should not use parental monitoring even though it may be protecting them, instead the parents should communicate
