INTRODUCTION The land of Jambi, Indonesia, on the island of Sumatra, has been incredibly blessed with the palm oil seed. The impact of palm oil has transcended time, boundaries and borders as it has become to most widely used product for consumer good. Not one day goes by where the average consumer doesn’t utilize a product without palm oil. It is every, it is necessary and it is in high demand. This is where the role of the corporations come in. He has a commenced a substantial transformation from a villainous CEO of Wilmar International Limited to a rehabilitated and converted believer in positive and beneficial change for the environment. His bad boy image is no more, and instead, his intentions are as pure as ever, with a new and committed purpose to address the issues that severely plague the palm oil industry he essentially created. The palm oil king is now a bona-fide environmentalist. Wilmar International Limited is the corporation that has been Hong’s pride and joy since day one. It has been established as “Asia’s leading agribusiness group” with 2016 being its 25th year ("Wilmar International", 2016). Wilmar is the world’s leading and largest palm oil trading company as well as one of the owner’s of the largest oil palm plantation and refiner in Indonesia ("Wilmar International", 2016). While contributing to the production of multiple items of daily use through the production and refining of palm oil, Wilmar has also lifted communities around the world, especially in Southeast Asia and Africa, out of poverty, and provided stimulation for their economies.
