The reason I say t... ... middle of paper ... ...her on Facebook than study for an important exam, and then they would fail or make a lower grade on it. Their priorities shift when given the choice between messaging on their phones or studying their textbooks, and the latter is usually set aside until it is too late. While it is true that technology has made much of everyone's daily life easier, it has also had some very negative impacts on our society. There are many different ways that technology can affect us, but most of them lead to same conclusions. We substitute face-to-face contact with emoticons and become more criminal just by taking the ideas that someone else posted online.
In other words, it can be said that while performing a task through the internet, the wide options available to the users divert their attention. For instance, if a person decides to read an online book instead of the traditional hard ... ... middle of paper ... ...and disregard their priorities. Although media can grant its users with information and entertainment, it can also drive them away from their responsibilities with the addiction that comes along with using it. Technology, with its great advancements and developments, has brought many advantageous changes onto humanity. But along with that, technology has inflicted negative effects on its users, such as addiction to mobile phones, constant use of the internet, and negative influences of media.
Wisdom tells us that too much of everything is bad. If we make use of it to an extent that it impedes our daily life and begins to interfere with it then it is indeed a cause for concern and would start impacting us negatively. Use of internet through ICT is indeed convenient and interactive but we must try and make use of it positively so it doesn't interfere in our daily lives and influences us positively. The idea for the existence of ICT is to use it responsibly for it to work for us efficiently and effectively.
Also, the internet has a big part in today’s communication. The internet is not only used for quick access to information. The internet can be used to send emails from business to business. Carr makes good points on how the internet can be a bad thing but the internet also has its pros in this argument
Nicholas Carr adequately, addressed the issue and personally it rang true that the internet is making us lazy, Carr thoroughly explained and argued different points of view of how the use of internet has been beneficial and how it has affected people. From Andrew Sullivan personal experiences it proved Carr’s issue because it showed the many distractions of the internet, it has been a part of how he blogs and the reason he blogs. As technology improves and increases the lazier we get because the less dependent we get on reading, books and critical thinking
Technology has slowly created a rift between members of the younger generation. Also it has created a more effective, but extremely dangerous type of weaponry. Technology, for all the good it does in our daily lives has had more of a negative effect on society than a positive one. The days when a family on vacation would use a map are gone, now if someone needs to get some where they just pull out the Global Positioning System (GPS) or even use their phone. Not only does the GPS have its own map, but it also has turn by turn directions so that almost no thinking is required.
It is harmful to be addicted to technology because of the impact of technology, the unhealthy lifestyle it creates, and the negative affects it has on the brain. Technology has a huge impact on humans lives today. “Now people prefer to interact via interact than personally” (importance of technology 2). Internet, cell phones, and e-mailing are some different ways to communicate now days besides talking in person. A lot of the vocabulary that is used in the twenty-first century is abbreviated, such as: by the way (btw), talk to you later (ttyl), be right back (brb), best friends forever (bff), and more.
The negative impact of Internet on behavioral changes in users In fact, internet has a considerable impact on the behavior of individuals and their way of thinking. Scientists say juggling e-mail, phone calls and other incoming information can change how people think and behave. They say human ability to focus is being undermined by bursts of information (Richtel, 2010). In fact, internet can cause the information overload in users because they have access to the huge amount of information which human brain seem to be hardly able to p... ... middle of paper ... ...t and telecommunication systems along with mass media, people will hardly be ever refuse from internet, unless a new, more progressive technology emerges. At the moment, the impact of Internet on human brains and the way of thinking is obvious and almost irrevocable but the impact can apparent its effects in a long-run perspective.
Today, a lot of people need the information from the internet because it is the easiest and fastest way to find information. Another benefits of the internet is making profit online. People take advantage of the internet as their source of profit. And the most commonly used benefits of the internet is socializing. The internet helps us make a lot of things easier.
The Invisible Side of the Internet In the developing world with the raising rate of the internet user, the internet has been becoming an inseparable part of people’s lives. As the internet is concerned with its side effects in the lives, it deprives them of their possessions like good relationship with others, creativity skill and the time that they have, and makes them have psychological illness like social-phobia and depression. In fact, it endangers their privacy. Therefore, people should be aware of the threads of the internet. Even though the internet seem to be beneficial, it can be the source of crucial issues in people’s lives.
