B. Artificial intelligence makes life more convenient and efficient through improving machine’s ability to perceive its environment and taking actions for certain goals.
C. The contents will be covered in this speech are the history of A.I. development, the basic mechanism of A.I. operation, the advantages of the application of A.I., and its limitations, as well as the threats it would cause.

II. Body
A. History of Artificial intelligence. The A.I. research was founded as an academic discipline in 1956. It is mainly developed by the attendees of the A.I. research workshop of Dartmouth College at the initial stage. After decades of development of

Working mechanism of A.I. system. The A.I. machine works on several sub-problems to simulate intelligence, such as reasoning, knowledge engineering, planning, learning, natural language processing, and social intelligence, and highly mimics human central nervous system.

C. Advantages and applications of A.I. Online assistants help people to accomplish routine work more efficiently, while self-driving cars, like Tesla Autopilot, helps to prevent car accidents and assists people with disabilities to travel around. Also, the A.I. program by Microsoft helps to make diagnosis and treatment plan for diseases, as well as preventing financial fraud.

D. Limitations and risks of A.I. The A.I. machine cannot think as human beings do. On the other hand, A.I. would threat human subsistence, causes moral problems, and increases the unemployment.

III. Conclusion
A. Artificial intelligence is a machine which mimics the human cognitive function, and is widely used in various fields and make life more convenient. However, potential threats to humankind could be caused, which demands a thoughtful consideration of the A.I. technology.
