Schindler the Rescuer Oskar Schindler, the profiteer of slave labor, the Nazi, was besides the title a great man. It is true that he was a member of the Nazi party, and he did profit off of slave labor, but you must look past the title, and think who he was as a person. Oskar Schindler was rich company owner born in Czechoslovakia. If you sick to facts you will find that he grew to be a savior 1,200 Jewish people in WW2 by spending all of his energy and almost every reich marc on saving them. He did not start out like the great hero he ended as, that is for sure. He was in the beginning a business man that only cared about money. Most people would have the Jews all sent to camps, and get a new bunch when they arrived, but not Schindler. He packed up the whole bunch and took them with him to Czechoslovakia. He couldn’t bear to send them away. But there was a mix up and the women were sent to Auschwitz. Did he stop there? No sir, that man rode a train back up there and made an excuse why he needed every one of them, even the little girls. He cared enough to go all the way up there, and do that for them. He spent so much money for them. He lost his entire millions of marcs fortune on the Jewish to get them to his factory. Here he now mad shells for tanks, but made it so none worked, and bought shells from other places so they didn’t have to work so hard. He was left with a watch, pin, and car (things of value). There is no other power on earth that will make a man spend that much, except being able to help others. So, Oskar Schindler was a hero that saved the Jews. He fought for them tooth and nail, and spent his entire fortune on saving them. To say otherwise is complete rubbish, because he gave everything for this cause and he saved so many.
