In the Odyssey, by Homer, Odysseus makes a lot of mistakes and has some bad traits, but he his good deeds and traits outshine the bad ones, making him a hero. Three of his good traits, being a good leader, being smart and cunning, and loving his family, are only some of his good traits. These traits, as well as the others, help define Odysseus as being a hero. Odysseus is a hero because of all of the good things he does for his family and friends, even if he has a few flaws.
