Imagine for one day, breathing very heavily as you walk up a set of stairs or even down the street. Your face drenched with sweat running down your neck onto your yellow shirt that was once white. Think of not being able to enjoy quality time with family and loved ones. That’s a regular day in the life of someone who is has the health disorder that is the second leading cause of deaths in America. That health disorder is called obesity.
Places like Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy’s and many other places that you love to eat can have many problems and complications when it comes to the after effects of eating their foods.“Again, nobody is certain why, but studies suggest that lower-income individuals consume higher amount of calories through fast foods and sodas that are high in sugar, fat, and calories.” (Public Health) However it’s not noted as much as it should be. This is something that we need to recognize as a nation. Currently, we are the most obese country that there is in the world. Well many researches have been done that have proven that being obese is unhealthy for you due to many things. It can lead to many complications throughout life, can lead to depression, and even make you live a shorter life. The lifestyle of someone obese can pretty expensive as well, for they usually go out and eat more times than the usual person.”Obesity has a far-ranging negative effect on health. Each year obesity-related conditions cost over 150 billion dollars and cause an estimated 300,000 premature deaths in the US.” (Stanford Healthcare). When going out to major fast food restaurants, they are consuming many unnecessary calories. The average calorie intake for a normal healthy being is around 2,300 calories.
