Delbo, Charlotte. None of Us Will Return. Beacon Press, 1978. “None of Us Will Return” is an account of another survivor of Charlotte Delbo of Auschwitz death camp. Through her strong words and beautiful writing she capture full attention of the reader that they develop a personal connection with her. A survivor of Auschwitz Delbo recounts the ordeal that she suffered during Holocaust. The haunting recollections of her time in Auschwitz that she projects in her writing left a very disturbing image in readers mind. Her story and journey can only be understand by Wiesel and other survivors of holocaust. “Facing History and Ourselves Resource Book” has multiple texts, essays and memoir that provides a significant insights of Holocaust and the horrific time that Jews faced and majority of them didn’t survive. Among all the stories, few stories stands out most in regards to Holocaust, particularly “Auschwitz” that provides three different perspectives of three survivors. Rudolf Hoess, the commandant of Auschwitz; Rita Kesselman, a survivor who describes her time in the camp; the third by Primo Levi who self-reflect the effects of the camp had on him. In another text in the book “A Commandant’s View” based on an interview with the commandant of the events at the concentration camps at Sobibor and Treblinka. His account of the camps are very similar to Wiesel’s time at the camps that provides a deeper understanding of the experiences Wiesel went through. Two other accounts “Remembering the Past” by Sonia Weitz’s and a video montage of “Childhood Memories”, in which Zezette L who was only 13 years old describe the horrific time she spend at Auschwitz.
