“What really makes us intelligent isn't our ability to find lots of information quickly,” according to the article, “Is Google Making us Stupid?” When students use the internet for most of your answer you don’t learn because it doesn't sync into your brain. Some youth are connected to Google or any type of electronics. They use it to look up answers for their homework. Should your school participate in a no screen screen week? Montesano School District would benefit from the no screen week in many different ways, some ways are our learning, social relationships, and the amount of sleep we get. Montesano High School students will benefit from “The Screen Free Week.” It will help with our learning. “The greater our concentration, the richer our thoughts.” students phones are a humongous distraction, most of the teenagers have their phones on them 24/7, while 99% of them are on it searching through snapchat, Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. “He regularly sends Facebook status updates at 2 a.m., even on school nights, and has such a reputation for disturbing links to videos that his best friend calls him a “‘YouTube bully’” (Matt Richtel, Growing Up Digital, Wired for Distraction). In addition to him annoying his best friend, his mom is getting frustrated with him because he lacks the self-control and favors the computers over his school work. His teachers also call him one of his brightest students, and they wonder why he fails when he is so smart.
