The concept of globalization
Globalization has become a very widely debated word then before the term itself can be seen as being more globalized. Globalizations has become very controversial as there are different parts of society that oppose the globalization of the world. Globalization can be seen as having an impact on culture, family and on democracy (Giddens 2002). We can see globalization everywhere in movies on the television in music that is being listened to and a lot of other areas. These multibillion dollar corporations have high turnovers in sales some have a higher GDP than some of the countries in the world .Because of this they have taken away the sovereign power of some states .This means that these multibillion dollar corporations have the ability to go around the world and look for the cheapest labor that they can get without any struggle. A good example of this would be China. American corporations would send the material that would be used to produce these products to China and there these products would be produced at a fractions of the original production costs in America because child labor is more prevalent in China or more so in Asian countries .These corporations have the ability to step on the human rights of the people of these respective countries which in most instances are poor because of the monetary influence that they hold. But people still want to know if this had happen due to globalization. For countries that were less developed the life expectancy has increased by as much as 23 years from the 1960's up until 1997.A good example of this is India where the life expectancy has increased from about 23 in the 1900's to 67 currently.
The reason for the decline was due to the decline in infant and also child mortality. When one is looking at child mortality you are looking at the death rate of children under the age of 4 years. And studies has shown that the mortality rate in developing countries has fell by 61% and also in Sub- Saharan Africa the child mortality rate has fell by 40%. And the infant mortality rate for countries with low income like China and India the infant mortality rate here has fell from around 157 per thousand births in the 1960's to 62 in the year
