Cell phones are one type of technology that will always be changing. First, we had the flip phone, next the slide phone, and now we have the latest and greatest smartphone. As smartphones expeditiously become rooted into everyday life, people are realizing what they are doing in and to our society a lot quicker and on a more personal level. We know that smartphones give us unlimited information at our fingertips, but what kind of consequences will that bring for teens growing up in the digital age? Will smartphones be more beneficial or harmful to people who use them?

Teens across the world must deal with issues such as hunger, poverty, getting to school or bullying daily and not every single one of these teens owns a smartphone. Smartphones are not the only factors that cause problems in a person's life. Divorce leaves children lost, confused, angry, and without a mother or father. Divorce can lead to many problems such as, teen suicide because of depression, girls getting pregnant based on the lack of a parent figure to love them or boys becoming fathers and leaving their baby because that's what their own father did. Another problem such as abuse, a mental, emotional or physical attack on a person, can harm someone so deeply, it can be irreversible. Obstacles teens face make them want to hide from the real world. Smartphones are good outlets for adolescents who cannot find solace or peace anywhere
