It is an easy thing to say that the Earth was created by a higher power. For a Christian and for most others, this higher power is called God. The Bible gives us the six- day creation of the heavens and the Earth and all that it details. For some others who do not believe in God, the higher power is some unknown power that science is trying to put a label on and still trying to figure out. There are numerous theories in science about how the Earth was created. In this essay, I will compare the two theories, nebular hypothesis and six-day creation and show how difference between the two.

Many people think that the bible is not right on the timeline of the creation. In fact, they believe that creation happened one day but it does not specify what day. Genesis has given different accounts of when creation was created. Science gives a different account of creation and saying that it was created billions of years ago, where the bibles gives a different account. Over a million of years ago, there was a formation called the protostar from a spinning nebula has been proposed to explain the birth of new stars. There are many problems with this scenario and no explanation of how the first stars could have formed per the known laws of physics. (Patterson, 2010). The Bible explains that God made the stars on Day Four but science says different. The Bible states that God created the entire universe, including each individual atom, out of nothing in six days. The Bible teaches that the earth was formed on Day One and the stars on Day Four through the spoken words of God—the two ideas are quite opposite.
