I didn’t believe my dad when he told me we were going to Disney World. I was 8 years old and thought only rich people could afford to go to Disney World. Over the coming weeks my excitement for the upcoming trip grew. My favorite book series at the time was Harry Potter and my parents had promised me a visit to Harry Potter World in Universal Studios while we were down there. February break finally came and soon enough we were stepping out into the humid air of Orlando. The atmosphere was completely different compared to the bleak and dreary weather in New York. We stayed in a hotel affiliated with Disney World, which meant we were only a short walk away from Downtown Disney. We had a schedule in which we would visit a new park each day. Animal Kingdom seemed to have the most character to me and was the most enjoyable day in my opinion. The rest of my family were having a great time and appreciating every experience they got, but I would often sulk or isolate myself from the rest of my family whenever something didn’t go the way I wanted. This attitude I acquired that …show more content…
Harry Potter World. As a kid Harry Potter was about as real for me as something can possibly be inside one’s head. Seeing the parts of the books come to life was incredible. It made me feel like I was a character in one of the books. The major attraction at Harry Potter World is the tour of the castle of Hogwarts, which I had been envisioning in my head from the first book of the series. The line for the castle stretched farther than I could see, and didn’t seem to be moving anywhere fast. My dad asked an employee around how long the wait would be and his response was “around 3 hours.” I knew almost immediately I wasn’t going to be taking the tour of the castle. I couldn’t be upset with my parents as they offered to wait in the line with me but I still became irritable and may have even made the day less enjoyable for my
What comes to mind when you hear the word adventure!!? Well there is a place in Florida that is guaranteed to bring out your inner kid every time you visit. This place is known as universal Orlando Florida. This is a place where you can go on vacation and have fun like never before as you did when you were a kid. On my visit to Orlando I stated at a four-star resort located inside the theme park known as Cabana Bay Beach Resort, also went to universal studios and islands of adventure were I felt like I was a kid again.
As soon as I got there, my three younger siblings were watching the teaser trailer for Big Hero 6, through my dad 's iPhone, intently with huge smiles on their face while my dad was chopping the vegetables. I squeezed between them and watched the trailer as this huge marshmallow walked across the screen, chasing a soccer ball, but kicked it instead. My whole face gleamed as a smile showed itself and I instantly knew I had fallen in love with the movie. Then the
Ever since I was a child, my family and I have been Disney fanatics. The Disney empire has created many amazing places, but my favorite location to visit is the Walt Disney World Resort. Every day 50,000 people from all over the world arrive at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida to experience the magic. When the park first opened its gates in 1971, 10,000 visitors made their way through. That number has multiplied five-fold and continues to multiply to this day. Since the 1971 opening, over 600 million people have experienced the magic of Disney. In my lifetime, I have visited the park with my family and friends six times. Each visit lasted four days in order to experience all the parks and their unique offerings. When I’m in Disney World, the experience each time is incredible.
My best friend and I were so excited, we were going to Six Flags some where we haven’t been in years. Around this time we were twelve years old and thought we were the most adventurous people in the world. The night before going to Six Flags I spent the night over her house. My best friend and I couldn’t stop talking about the rides we would get on, which one would be first and what we were going to eat.
At this point in my life, I was talking more so I could express my excitement. I was excited because I was finally going to meet Buzz Lightyear himself. Once we arrived in Orlando I could not sit still. All I wanted to do was go to Disney, but I had to wait until the next day. Once we arrived in Disney world. We went to Magic Kingdom the next day and the very first thing we did was go to Buzz Lightyear. Once we got closer I realized something was incredibly wrong. Buzz Lightyear was not the size I expected. In fact, he was taller than my parents and that scared me to death. As we got closer and close I began bawling and refused to go and meet him. We did not meet him and just rode the Buzz Lightyear ride instead.
In 2009, my parents and I decided to travel to San Antonio, Texas for vacation. My parents and I have traveled there before, but we enjoyed it so much that we decided to go back. With many places to see and do; my parents thought that we should go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas. It was at this theme park, where something happened that I would never forget.
Disney World is one of the happiest places on earth; middle school, not so much. Every kid goes through those horrendous awkward years, and over time comes out of it thanking “God that it’s over”. Whether it be braces, baby fat, or a color-blind sense of style, the pre-adolescent stage is definitely the worst. Every time I look back on those dreadful years I cringe, but I know they’ve shaped who I am today.
It all began when my brother’s traveling baseball team had a week long tournament in St. Louis, Missouri. Because I’m not a particular fan of baseball, it was tremendously boring having to sit in the beaming sun all day long for a week. Plus, I had to babysit two five year old girls that never stopped bickering and whining. To have some fun with the whole family involved, my parents thought that it would be nice to take everyone to Six Flags! I was so exhilarated that in the car ride there, which felt like hours but was really only
“All right. I’m corny. But I think there’s just about a-hundred-and-forty-million people in this country that are just as corny as I am.” Walt Disney was a major part of the Twentieth Century media and entertainment production. Disney was born December 5, 1901 in Chicago, and died of lung cancer on December 15, 1966. He was a chain smoker all his life, which may have been the cause of his lung cancer. His parents impacted him because they were German/English and Irish descent, and the Disney family frequently moved between Marceline, Kansas City, and Chicago.
I was so excited. I could hardly breathe through the hour drive it took to get there. I was squished between my two ten-year-old best friends in the back seat of a white Saturn, but I didn't care. I was practicing over and over in my head what I was going to say to all the smart-alecky adults who would tell me I was too young to ride the water slides. I was simply going to reply, "Actually I'm ten, going on eleven."
Everything seemed to be going smoothly that morning. Dad loaded the luggage and packed the cooler. He even packed the extra pillows. My family was very happy as we prepared for our trip. I was twelve years old and my brother, Jobie, was ten. My dad had told us for years about his first trip to Disney Land in California when he was a young Marine.
Ever since I was about six years old, I wanted in the worst way to go to Disneyland. I would hope every year that my parents would chose Disneyland as our next family vacation destination. I dreamt of the day I would come back from Disneyland with exciting tales of adventure and a pair of sparkly, ruby red and black Minnie Mouse ears of my very own that would be the envy of every kid in my elementary class. Once I finally went to Disneyland, it was amazing; Disneyland was everything I had expected and more. However, a couple years later when I returned to Disneyland, it was different. The rides, buildings, and everything in the park did not have the same allure. The magic I had experienced as a child was no longer there.
This essay is the respond to the Local Council Member who has wrong idea about a common archetype of adventure tourist. This misconception based on ignorance of current tourism industry, could potentially be a dangerous for local economy and development. The local authority must be well informed about present conditions with the tourism market, before they will make a far reaching decisions about the development direction in this industry. Currently, there are many organisations whose monitoring an international tourism business and this knowledge supposed to be good use for our common good.
When I heard my parents talking about going to Disney World I was so excited. It was a long trip down to Florida and I could not sit still, because I was so excited. We finally arrived that evening and decided to stay in a hotel near the theme park. When it was time for bed I could not go to sleep for a long time, because I was so excited about going at Disney world. When I saw the big mirror ball from the entrance, I was amazed. Disney world had a wide variety of rides. There were tons of rides that shocked me. Some of these rides made you feel like you were riding in a jet because of how fast they were. There was even a roller coaster ride in the huge mirror ball. It was a slow ride, but I still liked it because there was air conditioning inside the ball. We spent all day at the park until we had ridden everything. That night Disney World had a firework show. The fireworks seemed like they lasted forever with the amazing colors bursting in the air one right after another. When the firework show finally ended my parents told me that it was time to leave. I was...
The whole drive there I was just wondering what I was going to do and see over there. I mean I thought I thought I was excited about my plane ride there, but that wasn?t even half of what I was feeling at that time. Once I saw the roller coasters as we drove to Universal?s Island of Adventure my face just lit up like the sun.
