One of my favorite family traditions is summer vacation. Every summer without fail we go on vacation. For the past ten years we have been going to Disney World with our family friends the Battaglia's, so it has turned into a tradition up until last summer when we broke our florida adventure to go to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. We have been going on vacation with the Battaglia's for so long for a very good reason. It is because everyone gets along.
Almost all American families take a vacation. Whether it be only a few hours down the interstate or to the other side of the country, families like taking trips together. From camping in the mountains to fishing in the Caribbean, every family has a “spot” that they go to make memories and enjoy each other’s company. For my family, there is always one place we will visit every year, almost like a pilgrimage. That place is Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, my favorite place in the world.
The only thing my family loves more than each other is travelling. My grandparents on both sides of my family travel the majority of year, but only one set loves Disney World. The trips to Disney started at a very young age and quickly became an every-other-year family vacation. My dad’s parents and my parents have been Disney Club members for over almost 20 years now so they rack up points very quickly which helps make the trip much cheaper (also my grandparents pay for most of it). Disney was such a good place because there were things for my whole family to do no matter what age.
After a long ten hour journey we made it to our swanky Las Vegas hotel. I marveled at how big the snake shaped swimming pool was with its built in waterfall. Chat was dispersed through my family about all the fun we would have in the swimming pool the next morning. The next morning lots of laughs were shared between my family. We only got to be in the swimming pool for an hour because we had to get on the road but it was a nice start to a trip that had the potential of being fantastic.
Scuba Diving Scuba diving is a really interesting and exciting activity to do if someone loves the ocean as much as I do. My boyfriend Justus and I traveled to the beautiful Florida Keys for a week and a half last summer. When we got to the keys we had already planned on going scuba diving. We bought our tickets before we even left the state of Indiana. We were both super excited to experience something we had never done before.
Best Surprise Ever Yay! I roared when my parents affirmed that we were going on a road trip. I thought we were going somewhere close like we usually do, and honestly I wasn’t excited at all. Until my brother asked where we are going and my mom responded "We going to California for Spring Break." My first reaction was "Yes!
Well I’m going to tell you in detail the plan, how the plan was blown up, and how we pulled it off in the end. My mom found out about my cousin’s wedding and knew that she would have to spend a day in Disneyland because duh that’s the happiest place on earth. She had to execute her plan by making hotel reservations and telling me and my little sister that only her and my grandma were going to the wedding. In the long run we would all be going and spending a day in our favorite vacation spot. This plan was going great until one day a few weeks before we left I brought home my permission slip for our sixth grade trip to clear creek.
Disney World was my dream trip, who wouldn’t want that as a dream trip. Going to Disney world was the most popular trip that was offered to each kids with cancer. The trip was the most amazing trip in my life. Going to Disney world was a stress relief for me, my mom, sister and brother. It was a relief because we all knew that going through those difficult days was over.
In previous years, we experienced great weather conditions, great water conditions, and lots of family fun. Our schedule this past year would include tubing for several miles down the Clarion River each day, taking a family hike, going out to dinner at the Farmer’s Inn, and playing goofy golf. In previous years we had also included go-karts in our schedule. One year, my brother, cousin, and I even tried out the bumper boats at the fun center. They were nothing spectacular but were okay.
My Dad said you know what the technician just told me she said we were having a girl. The doctor said yes congratulations, then my Dad asked the doctor to take a look to get a s... ... middle of paper ... ...'t remember much about preschool other than I had fun playing and I went 3 days out of the week. For Thanksgiving that year we went to visit my Dad's Aunt and Uncle who lived in Ormond by the Sea, Florida. We had fun on the beach and while we were there, we went back to Disney World for a day to use up the one day pass tickets we had left from when we went before. I remember I really loved music and even had my own drum set and piano with a microphone!
