Everyone has goals they want to achieve. Everyone also knows it takes hard work and time to achieve them. I have two goals; I have a personal goal and academic goal. My personal goal is to get a scholarship for college. My academic goal is to get at least a 3.5 G.P.A as my accumulative G.P.A. If I get my G.P.A goal it may lead me to get more scholarships. To begin with, my personal goal to get a scholarship for college is very crucial. To get my scholarship to colleges I will first have to start applying. I am still looking for the college I truly want to go to but, I'd say my dream college is Columbia. I have to search for scholarships online and be prepared to write an essay for it. Getting a scholarship for the arts requires me to show
The hardest part of scholarships is not writing the essays that an admissions director will read, it is finding all of the scholarships that could help you out. There are many scholarships that have specific requirements that make them available to a limited portion of the population. Therefore, it is important to not just look for scholarships inside of whatever your major will be, but you also will need to look for scholarships that apply to your background in life. The other side of the coin, which we 've mentioned but not yet detailed, is that of the scholarships inside of your area of study. If you have a major in mind that you want to pursue immediately in college, it would be wise to apply for as many scholarships inside of this field as you can. You can never apply for too many scholarships, and between these and other financial aids, it is not difficult to go to college for a relatively small fee. As you can see, applying for scholarships is just plain economical thinking, and is a smart way to pay less to attend
Goals give you something to measure yourself against and give you direction. Currently, my main goal is to graduate from East Carolina University with a bachelor’s degree of science in engineering with a concentration in biomedical engineering. My anticipated time to graduation is five years with a GPA of 3.5 or higher. Beyond getting my bachelor’s degree at East Carolina University, I would like to go to medical school and become a doctor focusing on prosthetics. In order to make my goals a reality, I will have to work diligently to remain on track throughout my schooling. Additional goals that I have set for myself are to complete homework assignments by the time they are due, reading assigned material before it is discussed in class, doing well in each of my courses this semester, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within both the engineering community and the general community. A world-class engineering student woul...
“Never underestimate your own strength. You were born for a purpose and are blessed with the power to achieve it” (Leon Brown). I have this quote printed out and on the wall next to my door so I can see it every day as a reminder to myself. I believe that we all have a purpose on this earth and that everything we go through on the journey there has a reason whether to teach a lesson or set an example. We have places where we want to end up and goals we want to achieve. We set these goals and dreams to help us fulfill the purpose we see for ourselves. I believe my purpose is to help people in their times of need. To fulfill my purpose, I will need to use my personal, academic and career goals to create a pathway to get to where I want to be
Breathing is easy. It takes no thought, no practice. The only evidence is a slight fluctuation of air...in and out. The expansion of the chest… in and out. Time moves as a breath amongst us. Time moves as a breath amongst us. The exhale of time, when eyes rest and darkness seeps in. Time inhales and the bustle of life begins again. Unlike breathing, however, time is not a constant. It’s only a perception that grows more and more rapid.

In using college to become the person I want to be I made a lot of goals that to me seemed that they would be useful. The short term goals I made for my college self was to try and meet people that would help me succeed in my classes by keeping me on track to achieve an average of a B, Dedicate at least an hour to organizing my work load and my room, and lastly try and make use of the resources that are available to me to figure out a major. My educational goal is to graduate high school with a 4.1 GPA and attend a four-year college. Ever since I was a child, my dream has been to go to college. As a freshman at CSUB, I am here to accomplish my goals that have been forming over the years. My parents have lacked the opportunity of a higher education and the least I can do is to make them proud by obtaining a degree. Another goal that I have set is to get accepted into San Jose State University, though there is always a possibility that I will not be admitted into the school. To better my chances of being accepted, I will complete the requirements and work toward acquiring extra community service as well as participating in more clubs and extracurriculars. A more materialistic goal I have for the next ten months is to purchase a new car, but I cannot do that if I do not have enough money.
