My family Is made up of my two parents and brother. My parents are both young at the age of 40. My younger brother is 16, I would consider his age a decent gap between us. Although this has never stopped us from getting close, we have been best friends since birth. My immediate family of the four of us is small, but my extended family is very large. My entire family lives in Duluth MN, except for me. My mother and father were born is Duluth MN, they had grown up together from kindergarten to twelfth grade. They dated throughout high school, and into college. When they were 20 years old, there lives had changed for ever, they found out they were pregnant with me. As young parents they were worried about having a child, the finical struggle, a place to live and raise a baby on their own. Though it was hard they did it, they adapted and did what they had to do to raise me. My mom would work nights and take care of me during the day, while my dad would work during the day and watch me at night. They gave me everything when they had nothing. This has taught me the value of family, being raised by a supportive, loving family has given me great values and outlooks in life. When I was in kindergarten I had a friend from Indiana Katrina, and I’m still friends with her today. I came home from kindergarten to tell my parents about my new friend Katrina. I mentioned how beautiful and “tan” she was. I was so young that I did not grasp or understand there was a difference between us. I thought of us as equal and she was just my best friend. As I approached an older age, I was told people were different than me, I was taught that there was a difference besides the color of my skin. As a child, family was very important to me. My parents made it very clear that the people in your family are the people that are going to be on your side for the rest of your life. My parents were young when they had me so they needed some extra help. Although they did everything in their power to make sure their work schedules were set so that somebody would always be at home to watch me, that just wasn 't always possible. When in doubt, my granny would always come through. I began to build a very strong bond with her being that she was one of my main care takers. The traditional family in the United States consists two-married individuals providing care and stability for their biological offspring also know as the nuclear family. When the word “family” is discussed most people think of mothers, fathers, and other siblings. Some people think of grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins and more on the pedigree tree. Without family in people 's lives they would not be the same people that they grew up to be today and in the future. When people hear the word family they think about, the ones who will help them in any way they can whether it 's money, support, advice, or anything to help them succeed in life. Family will forever be the backbone of support. They are the ones who support their children during those life decisions. Family is not always blood related. Our parents work hard to get us where we are today. Due to the fact that my parents had lack of education and there English wasn 't that good they wasn’t able to get a job that was more relaxing. Though they work in company only they were able to earn enough to raise all of us. Through nurture, now that I’m older I don’t exactly see all the struggles that my parent had gone through to raise me, but I do see and understand more about the struggles. Their love for us, nothing can compare to it. Seeing what my parents had gone through and how hard they have work inspired me to work hard, go to school get a good job so in the future they can depend on me and just rest.
There are many things to love in life. Family and friends, pets and even hobbies can be loved. While I personally believe that love is a very strong word, I do have things I love. Please join me in learning more about myself as I explain why family and friends have a special place in my heart.

As a young adult lady, I grew up always being told how perfect I truly was, I grew up with the unconditional support of both my parents and a strong center in family orientation. I was blessed with these luxuries and I am forever thankful. Although I control the outcome of my life and I control my thought processes and social behaviors, my family has a big impact on how I carry myself and the aspirations I set for myself. Having a supportive family makes my life easier to endure during rough patches in my life and easier to reach my goals. I’ve endured the heartaches and the painful memories, but I am never alone in my pain. I think my family is the direct cause of my naturally elevated confidence during this vulnerable phase in my life, Although I do not want to give the perception of perfection but this mindset has helped me get through the toughest patches and come out on top, it has helped me dispatch from friends when needed and form positive inferences on how healthy relationships are suppose to look like. There are so many different types of family relationships. Whatever form a family takes; it is an important part of everyone’s life. My family has played an important role in my life. Good family relationships serve as a foundation to interactions with others. Supportive families will help children to thrive. The quality of the family relationship is more important than the size of the family. Making the relationships priority, communication, and providing support for one another is key to developing relationships. Family relationships are what make up our world today; they shape the ways that we see things and the ways that we do things.
To me, family is a group of people that are brought together by blood, adoption, or marriage. I also believe that people do not have to be blood-related to be considered a family. If two or more people have a connection with one another where they can rely and depend on each other and have an emotional attachment, I also believe that to be considered family. Golics, Azam, Finlay, & Salek (2010), define family as a diverse group of people that care for each other on a day-to-day basis (p. 400). My mother and father are still married after 27 years.
