In Boca Raton’s Museum of Art, the piece that inspired me the most was Szilárd Cseke, Installation in Hungarian Pavilion, Venice Biennale, 2015. “He constructs an entirely new site-specific installation. Since the mid-1990s, Szilárd Cseke has been creating installations that deal with themes of migration and identity assembled from found objects and ephemeral industrial materials with moving parts and neon lighting.” (Citation 1) Szilárd Cseke early life had a lot to do with how he is now successful in his works today. He was born in Papa, Hungary, and now he currently lives and works in Budapest. His background involves lots of education, finishing his master’s degree in painting and graduating from the University of Pecs in 1995. A lot of meaning comes into his art pieces, demonstrating social and economic processes, with the particular themes of migration and a search for identity. Szilárd Cseke often has investigations with global issues and his “questions of his identity” are routinely brought into his pieces collaborating with migration and personal decision making. It is the work of Cseke and Ábris Gryllus, the last of whom was welcomed by the craftsman and the caretaker to team up on the presentation.
