In this week’s reflection, the required material was a video that gave a brief overview of two of the more common cold bluing products on the market. The products being was the “Birchwood Casey Perma Blue” and “Bownells Formula 44/40”. The video also gave a tutorial on using the products and compared the results. The cold bluing compounds were tested on a barrel that was scratched by the gunsmith in the video. The first product that was tested was the “Birchwood Casey Perma Blue”. The test began with the gunsmith using a torch to heat the surface that was in need of repair. Next, the compound was applied to the barrel using steel wool. The purpose of conducting experiment was to determine the identity of white compound. Based on the 5 gram of unknown white compound several experiment conducted including solubility test, pH test, flame test, and ion test. Several materials including chemicals used throughout experiment and will be described through paragraphs.
Triphenylmethyl Bromide. A 400 mL beaker was filled with hot water from the tap. Acetic acid (4 mL) and solid triphenylmethanol (0.199 g, 0.764 mmol) were added to a reaction tube, with 33% hydrobromic acid solution (0.6 mL) being added dropwise via syringe. The compound in the tube then took on a light yellow color. The tube was then placed in the beaker and heated for 5 minutes. After the allotted time, the tube was removed from the hot water bath and allowed to cool to room temperature. In the meantime, an ice bath was made utilizing the 600 mL plastic beaker, which the tube was then placed in for 10 minutes. The compound was then vacuum filtered with the crystals rinsed with water and a small amount of hexane. The crude product was then weighed and recrystallized with hexane to form fine white crystals, which was triphenylmethyl bromide (0.105 g, 0.325 mmol, 42.5%). A Beilstein test was conducted, and the crystals produced a green to greenish-blue flame.
Advertisement over the years have been very relentless with a few inventories for its expansion. It can be a very persuasive tool towards getting a result. GM uses a tradigital marketing strategy type of advertising which combines both the traditional way of advertising and the new age way of advertising which is computer based also known as digital. However, there’s always room for improvement. According to John Wanamaker, he stated that “I know that half of my advertising dollars are wasted…I just don’t know which half” (Rosenblum, 2011). It is known for years as an accepted truth that 50% of every advertisement dollar is wasted. Is it because we are doing too much or too little to convince our potential buyers? This is a questionable factor that need answers. I recommend changing the key performance indicators from a marketing to a business focus, create a superior experience that at the end of the day simplify consumer’s lives and create an educational platform.
On September 15th at 2000, I had a counseling session with MIDN 2/C Jones (he asked that I not use his name) regarding his occasional absence from Morning Quarters Formation. I started the sit down session by first addressing the reason why I had asked to talk to 2/C Jones and why I thought it was important. I then asked 2/C Jones what his reasons were for sometimes not showing up to Morning Quarters Formation. 2/C Jones explained that he usually goes, but when he does not it is normally because he was up late working on homework the night before and needed rest. He brought up a supporting fact about how the Commandant keeps insisting that the Midshipmen need more sleep, which I agreed with him is true. I then asked him if he felt that formation was important or not. He began to explain why it was not that important to him, and then after he finished, I gave the reasons why it is important, especially as a significant leader to the 4/C in the Company
Change of Color and Gaseous release was observed in (B1, B2, B3, B4 ) each had cloudiness, and a change in compression. In B1 the bubbling became gradual and eventually turned the Aluminum shot red in color. B2 had a series of bubbling through the experiment, eventually eroding the Aluminum foil. B3 trial was very responsive to the Copper chloride and the Zinc became Black. B4, Ammonium hydroxide had a thick level of blue above the remaining clear
The purpose for this procedure is for students to familiarize themselves with how different types of properties can lead up to identifying substances. For the safety of this experiment be sure to always have your goggles on and tightly secured, due to any splattering of chemicals or glass breakage. Under no circumstance should any chemical be near your mouth. In this procedure students will use four methods that will help identify what is their unknown substance. Once all methods are done its data will provide physical properties of numerical values which students will compare to the list that will lead to identifying their pure substance. I am writing this letter as a self-reelection after taking WR 227 with you as my Professor. Like I mentioned in my e-mail I am not exactly sure how my career field will use writing, but after taking the class I realized that whatever it may be I will have the knowledge to do so. I feel more confident in my writing ability, and knowledge of how to find any material I could use on the job. Over the last term I would say my writing has grown in that I now know how to write professionally written documents. I would say the biggest success and proudest achievement was writing the resume and cover letter. I had originally taken a class in high school that was supposed to teach a bit of professional writing, but I think WR 227 was much better.
First and foremost because I failed to fulfill the academic requirements for Final Warning during the spring 2015 I was suspended at the end of the semester. I failed to obtain a semester grade point average of 2.30 or above. I failed to complete at least 12 credits for letter grades. At first I thought my first semester poor performance was simply because I was not academically ready for college. However, after spending almost a year at home with my father I have come to realized how not playing competitive soccer and my family complications affected me deeply.
Exploration Passages is a program that many people have probably never heard of or even more, they never knew that this program exist. So what made me choose the Exploration Program? Honestly, my first choice was to take Exploration Prerequisites to complete my chemistry and physic courses that I have not taken during my high school year since I needed those courses to get into nursing or dentistry. I got a rejection letter and I was really sad about it. In that moment, I was not certain of what program I want to take anymore because, like I mention earlier, the programs I wanted to get into requires chemistry and physic. I realize that I was tired of Marie-Anne ( the adult school I attended to redo my French course ) and that I really wanted to attend college so I decided to explore other program to apply to. I came across Exploration Passages! While reading the description, it got my attention that this program will help me discover other program that would suit me and I really needed that since I have to rethink of a program to take. I feel more prepared for ENG 1123 than I did for ENG 1113 because I feel that ENG 1113 helped prepare me for this course. In that class, I became a stronger reader and writer by learning new skills and building on old skills that I learned from previous English courses. I have had experiences that I felt defined me as both a reader and writer. My junior year, I took AP Language and Composition and that class helped me to see myself as an exceptional writer. Last semester I was in ENG 1113 and the concepts and lessons that I learned in AP helped me with my writing in that course. A lot of my classmates and peers asked me to proofread their ENG 1113 papers and give them tips on how to word certain sentences. I enjoyed that experience because

Evidence-based practice is centralized of the nursing profession. Nursing research is a formal, systematic and rigorous research process that generates, or tests theories related to human experience within the healthcare setting (Fawcett & Garity, 2009). Therefore, research is one of the principal roles of advanced nursing practice. Investigating is the evidence that guides nurses in the topics related to the clinical problems posed in the field (Lopez & Epsnes, 2017).
I still have a lot to learn about the writing process, but I have gained a lot of knowledge while working on the three projects for my 1102 course this past semester. The challenges that I have faced while completing the poetry exposition, critical analysis, and creative project have assisted me in discovering techniques to improve my writing. Each writing assignment has challenged my approach to reading and dissecting literature, as well as altered the way that I respond to literature with writing. My strengths in writing consisted only of organizing my ideas, and forming thesis paragraphs and topic sentences, but my concision skills have drastically improved, and I have learned how to use active voice rather than passive. What a Great start back this week with our district literacy study groups for PK-8. I started my day with K and ended with 7th grade. The sessions today were very good and allowed everyone to grow deeper understandings of the curriculum we are implementing. The teachers I worked with today were very positive and excited about the professional growth opportunities.
After the solution was stirred, the solution turned into a mustard yellow color. When the luminol was dissolved into NaOH the solution turns a dark brown color. After the water was added into stock solution A, the color appeared medium brown. Following this, after the potassium ferrycyanide and hydrogen peroxide were mixed, stock solution B was made and appeared a yellow color. When stock solution B was diluted with water the resulting solution B appeared a to be a light yellow. Finally, after diluted solution A was added to solution B in a dark room the appearance of the solution was a glowing blue
