Many companies all over the world produce chemicals for their products that are harmful to the environment, human health, and to all living species. Green Chemistry is the use of chemistry for the prevention of chemical pollution to the environment by using chemicals that are benign, or not harmful. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) states that the mission of Green Chemistry is, “To promote innovative chemical technologies that reduce or eliminate the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and use of chemical products.” Green Chemistry contains any aspects and types of chemical processes that reduce the negative effects of certain chemicals, in a way, using chemistry to fight chemistry.
In pair three the use of Clorox bleach is evident in the two pictures. Clorox being a commercial bleaching agent is applicable in various homes and for different purposes. In figure one, a jubilant young woman is seen cleaning with Clorox bleach. She is wearing hand gloves and carrying Clorox can on her left-hand side while, on the right-hand, there is a scrubbing or scouring material (Calabro, 28). Her position slants towards the surfaces she is cleaning with the left leg lifted off the ground. The picture in-depth focuses on a female that people perceives to be the house caregivers. For this reason, the Clorox advertisement here portrays the ease with which one can remove dirt without struggling. One can use the product to clean walls and the sink plate as described by her hand leaning on it. In our everyday lives, women have the responsibility of making

Garmco could use the advantages of having a catchy phrase to implement their expansion into recycling. It is understood that the world at the moment is thinking more green and towards saving the nature and limiting pollution, especially in countries such as the United Kingdom and Ireland which witnessed the fastest growth rates in recycling (WrapUK, n.d.). Expanding the company to such countries with high awareness of the importance of recycling and using the “It’s All in a Phrase” approach, as suggested by Orit Gadiesh and James Gilbert, could help in succeeding the implementation process (Gadiesh & Gilbert, 2001).
The power of “green” advertising lies in its sheer ubiquity and its particularly charismatic approach to manipulation. It feels good to support a cause, and who could possibly be (openly) against the environment? By studying the fundamental nature of their business through the lens of the TNS framework, McDonald's Sweden is moving beyond eco-efficency. Today, approximately half of the 160 Swedish McDonald's, the bakery, and the national headquarters run on renewable energy - hydropower. All new restaurants use water pipes made of recycled plastic instead of copper, wood framing instead of steel framing, and wood foundations instead of concrete foundations - overall, reducing construction material use by 5-10 percent. Research is currently underway at seven restaurants to develop a biological filter to clean exhaust from fry stations. The new technology uses bacteria to eat the oil and reuses remaining clean air to heat their restaurants. In addition, McDonald's Sweden serves organic milk and beef, recycles 97 percent of all restaurant waste, has significantly reduced distribution distances helping to cut fuel costs by over 30 percent, and has eliminated the need for over 1,200 tonnes of packaging material by changing to smarter packaging.
“Going Green” means to pursue knowledge and practices that can lead to more environmentally friendly and ecologically responsible decisions and lifestyle. It is a movement that many participate in to help improve the environment. Technology improves the “Going Green” movement since machines can help one save money, energy, and resources from being wasted (i.e. using hand dryers in replacement of having paper towels exchange periodically). There are many ways the society pursues “Going Green” such as going paperless, carpooling, and using solar panels. “Going Green” affects human behavior because it involves technological advancement, sometimes resulting in job loss.
