The Talk of the Town Movie “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the world” The movie “Master and the Commander: The Far Side of the World” is a movie no one should want to miss seeing. The movie is seen as entertaining to anyone who wouldn’t mind a movie from back then. Therefore, the movie taking place in the year of 1805, and the setting taking place on ships of English men and French crew men not to mention them at war with each other. The movie being well put together and leaving others wondering at the end. That’s is why it is a very entertaining movie. While others may not agree this a good movie because they may not like this type of genre of movies or because it just was not interesting to them. “Master and Commander: The Far Side …show more content…
For example, the way everyone spoke in the movie and so clear with the accent. As well as another amazing acting scene is the doctor self-performance surgery on himself. Then captain Jack’s speech to his crew was great acting of friendship besides a connection with crew members. As a matter of fact, the fourth most important scene was the French pretending their captain was dead. Not only did they pretend their captain was dead but played it off as if he surrenders his sword to the English men. The arguments between Dr. Stephen Maturin and captain Jack seemed to be realistic, and normal tone of voice. Despite that, the sixth most important is Blakeley making it believable as if his arm was actually amputated. However, coming in last for important scenes is the brain surgery being performed in front of everyone, it did seem to look very …show more content…
Despite the time spent on movies this movie has had plenty of it spent on acting classes. The actors in the movie truly did put in hard work and dedication into acting their parts. However, the movie does have over top action scenes throughout especially starting at the beginning and will have eyes glue to the screen. Despite those two things when it comes to movies this movie could be seen as educational. For example, if looking for a movie to show in English seems to show great leadership, usage of English literature, and etc. Although at first some may seem to not like the movie, give it a chance. It is also a chance that you won’t like the movie but love the movie that’s is why it recommend to
Acting of movie is very basic for todays standards. The actions of the Miles Bennell aren’t believable or logical. At some points the women of the movie tend of over action simple scenes. The rest of the cast is monotone and have little emotion. It ok casting, but they could of done better. You find yourself laughing at serious point in the film due to the poor acting. This movie could be recut to become a comedy movie, just based off their facial expression.
Overall I think that the show was worth seeing, even though I let my parents pick the film--which I will never do again by the way-- I think that it was a good production. It was a little boring at first, which might have just been because I didn’t really want to see it in the first place, but the storyline was pretty good. I personally like humor, so I tend to pick shows that I know will have some humor, but I’m proud of myself for seeing something outside of my comfort zone.
I really enjoyed the movie. It was entertaining and very informative. The reason I said it is informative is because of the information I have learned in this class. It caused me to pay close attention to the characters, especially Cologero and think about his actions and the reasoning behind them. I feel that this film is definitely related to subject material discussed in class. The main character is a juvenile who engages in a lot of delinquent behaviors and activities, much like the ones we focus on in class. While watching the movie, I was easily reminded of the information we went over in the previous class which made the movie more enjoyable. Especially since I was able to view the film from a different
I would recommend this film to other teenagers because it shows that following your dreams is worth pursuing if you are prepared to leave your family and maybe your country.
In my opinion, this movie is boring and confusing for the first time but, from the second time, this movie starts reveal the fascination. At the first time, I do not like this movie so much but after I watched second time, I became to like this movie. If I asked
Even though there is a great amount of audience participation, one really has to turn your attention to the actors in the movie. It takes a special kind of person to really understand the movie they are in.
The film had many elements, one being dialogue especially in that first scene. Kasdan had the guys who approached Mack just being them self’s and saying things how the normally would in a real life situation. “Do you respect me, or do you respect my gun” says one of the guys to Simon. Another element was the camera shots and sound effects that made me feel the way the characters did. Like in this first scene the way the camera paneled around the car as the guys were harassing him showed how over whelming the situation was. Then when you could hear the tow truck coming down the street showed a sense of
With the help of superb editing, sound, mise en scene, and cinematography, this film cannot be topped. The fist scene of the movie creates an atmosphere that helps the viewer know that he/she will enjoy this wonderful classic. Throughout the movie there are surprises and fun that makes this a movie that people will want to watch again and again. Gene Kelly said it best when he said, "Dignity, always dignity. " That is what this movie has from beginning to end, dignity.
Captain “Lucky Jack” Aubrey, the protagonist in Master and Commander: Far Side of the World, is an excellent example of a leader to both his crew and the audience of the film. Lucky Jack received the nickname because of his tendency to be in the right place at the right time, to win battles and, if necessary, narrowly escape disaster. The movie takes places during The Napoleonic Wars when Great Britain was at with France. Captain Aubrey is the captain of a British battleship, the HMS Surprise, when a much larger French warship, the Acheron, intercepts each other and pursue each other off of the coast of South America. Lucky Jack, as his crew refers him to, is well regarded by his men, who trust him implicitly, even after the first devastating battle and an apparent personal vendetta against the French captain.
...r, this movie is lack of depth of storyline. The audiences can even predict what will happen in the next scenes. Moreover, the ending of this movie is too cheesy and irrational according to me. If only they change the ending to become more interesting and rational, I will give a four or five stars out of five. In spite of a lame twist ending, this movie is a perfect example to show that managers should be able to motivate and challenge their employee. It is important to remember that a happy employee means a productive employee.
The many French scenes also must have been challenging to the director. Different actors were entering and leaving the common room throughout the entire scene. The timing of these scenes was very well directed and made the scene flow smoothly. The director used the entire stage and at no point was it unbalanced or lopsided.
I have to disagree with both of these reviews. I believe that the story was brilliantly written and the cinematography was beautiful. This movie touched me and had me in tears, which believe me is hard to do. I do agree with the New York Times and New Yorker that it was a little dragged out and that Kiera Knightly's acting was over rated. Other than that, I would defiantly recommend this movie.
Overall, the film isn’t half as epic as Emmerich’s previous. blockbusters or half as entertaining. The dialogues are about as interesting as watching paint dry and the bland characters have about as much depth as a puddle in the street! The storyline isn’t exactly. deep, introspective stuff, either.
In my own opinion I think this film is great. I think this because it
I say this because it carries all of the basic cinematic elements that compose a great film. These elements begin with the characters. You can hardly expect to enjoy a movie if the characters are not believable. In this particular movie the characters were not only believable but you could identify yourself a little in one or all of the characters. One thing that can have an unfortunate detraction from even a good movie is anachronisms.
