According to Blackburn, S. (n.d.) shows us a few social norms that exist in a relationship in the subsequent paragraphs below. 1. Couples vacationing together: Now this, could be a social norm because, couples do decide between themselves on what would make them happy or spice up their relationship, and taking a vacation would indeed be one of them. Sometimes, both do not come to an agreement which then makes it a social norm because, the partner could possibly say that this is what the society does, so why not take a try. 2. Spending time with in-laws you cannot stand: In a relationship, there must be an in-law you both cannot stand on both sides. But, it is just necessary in relationship to spend time with your in-laws. But, I think in a relationship, it is all about being true and real to one another. Therefore, being what you are not could harm a relationship badly and wouldn’t create the healthy relationship that is required. Rather, it would grow in a way you least expected because, communication wasn’t involved which is the key to every relationship. According to Center, N. H. (n.d.) most of the greatest challenges adult couples face these days in relationships are: 1. Lack of communication skills: Even when different from one another, communication is extremely important in a relationship. 2. Addictive behaviors: From either side of the couple, either of them could be addicted to drugs alcohol or other things. These could affect one’s relationship, values, personalities and the way they treat others. 3. Trust issues: Some couples do have trust issues based on past experiences, and find it difficult to trust their present partner but rather put the blame on them. 4. Finances: This could play a huge role in a relationship, especially if a partner chooses to settle down with the other. Thoughts about raising a family, fending for oneself etc. would come
