Mark Twain, Samuel Langhorne Clemens was a well-known novelists and remains so to this day. Samuel Clemens, otherwise acknowledge as Mark Twain, dedicated his life to generating infamous works of literature that are still venerated and awarded today. Mark Twain's precise stories and literature works reflect his adolescence and growing up experiences along the Mississippi by his heavy use of dialect, speech, settings, and characterization.
Samuel Clemens was born on November 30, 1835, the year of the Halley’s comet in Florida, Missouri, on the banks of the Mississippi river “Mark Twain was the son of John Marshall Clemens and Jane Lampton Clemens, he was also the sixth child from seven children”(Twain 3). His family migrates to Hannibal, a port town on the Mississippi River, which became the motivation for the majority of his job, but his most distinguished work that reflects this is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. Mark Twain attended school from 1840 to 1849. Around 1847 twain establish holding jobs at newspapers, which eventually led him to leaving school and taking full time positions as a novelist. Twain also became a pilot for a riverboat until the Civil War broke out causing him to lose the job he had.
“During the war and post-war years he remained with newspapers and gazettes, working towards his writing course which he is noted for today”. (Bloom 11). Samuel Clemens ultimately landed a full time position as an interviewer at the Virginia City Territorial Enterprises. “There he prepared utilizing his pen name "Mark Twain" in 1863, he picked up from being a pilot on a riverboat” (Twain 8). Twain then transferred to San Francisco and got another full-time job at the Saturday Press. There...

The story was told by two tellers, Mark Twain who introduces his story with energy, and Simon Wheeler who sets his story for Twain's auditory perceivers. The Language that the tellers use is a certain dialect that Twain uses from the south depicting his background. This reflects his life from growing up on a slave plantation and where he emanates from (Cox 17-18).
Mark Twain's work reflects his childhood and growing up experiences along the Mississippi through his vigorous utilization of dialect. Twain astounded people by utilizing such vigorous dialect and language, because then it was unheard of. Twain was a much venerated author and inditer then, and he remains so to this day.

Since all this action was going on all the time, that opened a big door to the beginning of Samuel’s stories. It provided a huge source of literary material. Shortly after the death of his father in 1847, he ended the brief period of his schooling to become a printer’s apprentice. Like many nineteenth century authors, he was preparing for his writing career later in life. Working as a Printer’s apprentice he got practice as a typesetter and miscellaneous reading. The first thing Samuel wrote as a used piece was a few skits for his brothers Orion’s Hannibal newspaper and a sketch, for The Dandy Frightening The Squatter, published in Boston in 1852. The first real book ever published by Mark Twain was Life on the Mississippi River. Between 1853 and 1857 Clemens worked a journeyman printer in seven different places. During this trip of making sketches and writing stories, he began eastward by boat. Twain started writing letters telling about his visits to New York and the Middle West in 1867. On his trip he seemed to have gotten him self in a lot a trouble such as disorderly conduct. After time passed Mark kept writing short stories here and there and a few sketches also.
