My Motivation is Marco “Stay positive, keep smiling and one day you’ll see that anything’s possible and you can make your dreams come true.” (Wordbypicture) -Phora Who is this Phora guy you might be asking? This guy’s real name is Marco Anthony Archer, but mostly known as Phora. “Phora was born and raised in the city of Anaheim,CA, where he began to pursue rap at seven years of age after recording his first track with his father. Growing up, he was strongly influenced by both his father and graffiti to make music. He is currently dominating the west coast Hip Hop scene, dropping quality music for the public and continuing to grow his massive following.” (Genius) My honest opinion about Phora is that he is truly dominating the west coast with his rap. That bad rap like what most of the kids in this generation listen to is nothing compared to his music. His …show more content…
“Over the weekend, his real-life army showed up outside a tattoo shop for a packed meet-and-greet that spilled out from the steamy, cluttered hallway of the shop's building and stretched around the block” says the tattoo shop owner. Elva Torres, a fan who came down from L.A., stood waiting for the rapper since 8:30 a.m. While that sounds pretty unfathomable to most people, Torres says she's been a diehard fan since 2013 and was determined to finally meet him. “His lyrics are just amazing and he's very humble, you can tell in his songs. I'm so nervous, it's my first time meeting him," she says giggling. Phora said, “Standing in line shaking hands, hugging and posing with smiles and funny faces for endless Instagram photos is part of my commitment.” (Jackson, Nate) Phora influences others positively by including such positive and inspirational lyrics into his songs. The lyrics are deep...deep to the point where you stop, you think, you make a change

He may just seem like another rapper to you but if you actually listen to his lyrics you can see he’s not like any rapper out there. His name is Kanye West and he was born in Chicago Illinois. He grew up in the “ghetto” and learned to appreciate life. He didn’t learn to really, truly appreciate life until October of 2002. Driving back to his hotel late one night after a recording session, the new-coming rap/hip-hop artist was involved in a devastating, near fatal car accident. The crash left him with a broken jaw in three places and an appreciation for life. Just weeks after being released from the hospital he recorded his first major hit, “Through the Wire,” with his mouth still wired shut. He records every song like its going to be his last song and that makes every song better than the last. He’s not only a rap artist but also a producer. He has been responsible for being behind songs like Jay-Z’s Izzo, Girls, Girls, Girls, The Takeover, and 03 Bonnie and Clyde.
His Grammy Award-winning best rap album To Pimp a Butterfly has a deep meaning starting with the theory of the album relating to Harper Lee’s novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”. The novel which is based on an innocent Black male, Tom Robinson, who is being indicted for committing a crime he never did. In the novel, the mockingbird is an allusion for Tom, a man who has never hurt anyone, yet is on trial and facing a death sentence. In Lamar’s politically fueled album, with response to racism, feminism, violence, and police brutality he created a pro-black record and sings it like a mockingbird would, a harmless album referring to the growth of a “butterfly”. However, he is the “butterfly” and the series of songs refer to his growth and transformation from the inner-city kid of Compton to the world renown artist he is today. He is able to do this through the evils he has experienced in this world. Lamar captured the American black population’s political and personal struggles by incorporating the economic, social, and political wrongdoings amongst the society. While writing the album To Pimp a Butterfly, Lamar pledged his dedication to bringing positivity to his listeners. Through his own assessment of systematic problems facing the black community, he takes his music’s impact seriously. Since music is a truly powerful force, and “one of the most arresting

Thus he adopted the name Robert capa not only because he wanted to hide the hide the fact that he was Jewish but because capa (“shark”) was his nick mane is school. He felt that it would be easier to recognize as an American-sounding, since it was similar to a film director by the name of Frank Capra. He found it easier to sell his photos under the new "American"-sounding name.
... see that being involved in the hip hop industry is difficult and there are many disputes involved with it but there are also reasons for its need in today’s society.
Kanye West has been an icon in American hip-hop culture for over a decade. His music, fashion line, producing skills, and flamboyant personality has influenced many people for generations to come. Coming out of Chicago, many people in the music industry didn't even think Kanye had a chance to become a figure in hip-hop, but his hard work and persistence paid off. Kanye started off his music career as a producer. He produced music for the likes of major artists such as Common and Jay-Z. His first major breakthrough came from producing Jay-Z’s “The Blueprint”— which is certified 2x platinum. Kanye believed he could be a successful rapper as well, but music executives didn't believe he had it in him. That all changed when Roc-A-Fella records signed Kanye to their label, and gave him a chance to shine as a rapper. Kanye’s background, critical analysis, and importance all shows that he has become one of the most important characters in American hip-hop culture to this day.

Kanye Omari West, rapper, producer, professional celebrity, and with an ego to match, has forced himself into the limelight of the music industry. Kanye West has made a lasting impression on all of those around him, whether it be a good one or bad. With seven full length albums, a multimillion record label company, and a successful fashion business all under his belt, it’s fair to say that Kanye has done his fair share of creating. Over the last twelve years Kanye went from a young Chicago kid just trying to get his flows off, to one of the most decorated musicians of all time. With over 20 Grammy’s and 3 of his albums ending up on the Rolling stones “500 greatest albums of all time”. He has continuously created, entertained, and spoken his mind for years. Whether it be “George Bush does not care about black people” or “Taylor imma let you finish, but Beyoncé had

He is extremely well known around the world because he produces a lot of good quality and highly successful music videos for a song in the style of hip-hop.
Lamar has been successfully achieving his dream by rapping about the stress and difficult situations he has encountered but strongly claims that we will all be alright in his song, “Alright.” He released a song called “i” that reflects how violence has increased in the cities and how he wishes everyone should love each other as humans. His last song on “To Pimp A Butterfly” called “Mortal Man” he states “only because you don’t wear the same color as mine, that doesn’t mean I can’t respect you as a human being.” He clearly states how he understands the reputations of other gang members may seem important but should all still respect others as people. Lamar has been a role model to several students from the city of Compton that was able to create a scholarship called “Be Alright” that is based off the same song called “Alright.” Kendrick Lamar has been respectively producing music for his fans without a doubt of impressive beats and
It is so hard to become a rapper. But it is harder to become a Great Rapper. I believe Tupac is a great rapper. Not only a great rapper, but the greatest rapper. Like Snoop Dogg had said, “Tupac was many different things at once. Hardheaded and intellectual, courageous and afraid, revolutionary and….oh yeah, don’t get it f***ed up, gangsta.” To be a great rapper, you must have impact, commercial success, be good at song writing, a lot of performances and live shows and lastly, hella good rapping. The first song I heard from tupac was “ambitions az a ridah and all eyes on me” and it was real original so I went and listened to ‘Brenda got a baby’ which made me think “dammmmm he good, he good as hell”
Rap is becoming more popular than ever, soon most of the world will have some type of knowledge of rap music. Rachel Sullivan from the University of Connecticut stated “White respondents in this survey had difficulty naming three rap artists, which indicated that they did not have a high level of commitment to the music.” This statement was produced in 2003, also seemed to be very one dimensional. Recently, rap music has been surging through the masses no matter the race. Furthermore, rap is becoming very prevalent especially in the youth of this era. Many trends, commercials, social media, etc. are revolving around rap music.
Hip- hop is a standout amongst the most compelling musical sorts on the globe. There are rappers everywhere that know what amount of an impact their music can have. Some entertainers attempt to utilize that force of impact to do great (Ruiz INT).
